Castle St Townhouse

Castle St Townhouse

Open from breakfast until late, Castle St Townhouse is a new, all-day dining and drinking experience serving a delicious, packed menu to Liverpool’s bustling commercial district. Castle St Townhouse combines the ‘Three Bs’ (breakfast, brunch and bar) and caters for different customers throughout the day: Those who have just woken up, those who are at work and those who simply want to play.

Dishes on offer at the venue include the likes of the Bottomless Brunch and the Townhouse Tier, as well as a tempting array of desserts. The drinks menu is equally as impressive and boasts a collection of cocktails including breakfast, signature and classic cocktails, alongside a selection of wines, spirits and beers.

Housed within a beautifully lit Grade II listed building, Castle St Townhouse offers a relaxed atmosphere in a stunningly designed space. Features of the interior include arched mirrors, velvet booth seats, a DJ booth and a bulk head ceiling, which creates a more intimate space within the venue.

TJM Projects were the main contractors on Castle St Townhouse, while The English Architect Company provided architectural services. DV8 Designs were the designers on the project.

Speaking to Premier Hospitality about Castle St Townhouse, Lizzi Mullett, DV8 Designs, said:

“Castle Street is a prominent location in Liverpool, so for this project our design inspirations started from looking at the local competition and the calibre within the area. We wanted to create a go-to venue that would attract a variety of custom – a place to enjoy and relax throughout different stages of the day. All the features of the site are stand out pieces, from the large glass pendants that sit towards the front of the bar area to the large antique-effect arched mirrors on the back bar.

“To the rear of the space sits a brick-slip wall, which includes a bowler hat feature wall and this emphasises the classy, elegant British features that are present in Castle St Townhouse.”

As Castle St Townhouse is housed within a listed building, any external works that took place on the project were limited. Lizzi commented: “As well as the new signage to the external, it was important for the scheme that we relocated the main door to the centre of the facade. However, we had to ensure we kept the heritage of the building intact, so the framework to the doors were created similar to what was there previously and existing ironwork was carefully relocated to form the grand central entrance.”

Since opening its doors in September 2016, Castle St Townhouse has received fantastic feedback from guests, which only goes to highlight the success of this project. It has also proved to be a rewarding project for all involved.

Discussing the importance of the project, Lizzi said:

“Working with independent clients is always enjoyable as they tend to push the boundaries and it’s great to be able to aid them in achieving that goal.”
