This Month in Premier Retail 1-7

Dear readers,

Welcome to Premier Retail – the premier construction tool for the retail industry.

In this month’s issue we showcase two new concept stores for IKEA; we unveil a new shop for Søstrene Grene; and we take a look (no pun intended) at the new Specsavers store in Caerphilly.

Furniture and home furnishings giant, IKEA has opened two new order and collection point stores as the company continues to trial its latest shopping concept in the UK. Birmingham and London joined Norwich and Aberdeen in August as the only UK cities to boast the new stores that are designed to make IKEA more accessible to customers. The order and collection points offer customers the chance to engage with IKEA staff to discuss ideas, ask questions and get hands on with products to gain inspiration, but in a different and a more accessible way.

Meanwhile, Danish lifestyle retail chain Søstrene Grene has recently opened a new store in Northern Ireland, launching the first of up to six stores planned for Northern Ireland. Søstrene Grene is known internationally for its quality, affordable designs specialising in home accessories, kitchenware, gift wrap, stationery, arts & crafts, toys and furniture. The interior of the stores are inspired by Mediterranean market squares with products displayed in a wonderful world of colours, atmosphere and scents in simple and striking wooden boxes and shelves. The new store is located on Anne Street, Belfast.

And finally, residents of Caerphilly have been benefitting from a quicker service and greater choice at their local Specsavers after the company’s latest concept store was installed in the town centre. The £500,000 development saw the opticians move down the road to revamped, 3,900 sq. ft. two-floor premises. With the central aim of significantly reducing waiting times, the new shop is substantially larger than its predecessor and can offer the full range of Specsavers services.

With all this and much more inside, please join us as we explore the projects which continue to shape the retail sector.
