The original BIM show returns for 2017
After taking a year out in 2016, the original BIM Show Live is set to return next year. It promises to come back with a BIM-bang and deliver far beyond our expectations in the world of digital construction.
Having previously been held in both London and Manchester, all those involved felt it was time to bring the show home to its North Eastern roots, where the ideas for the show first began. Newcastle city centre will be the host to BIM Show Live on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 February 2017.
The show was first launched back in 2011 and over the past five years has grown into one of the most trusted information-sharing platforms for BIM. Next years’ show is taking things back-to-basics and will re-visit the initial objective of the show – an event focused on technology.
Concentrating not only on the processes and the people behind digital construction, but the success stories and who has truly embraced the BIM-benefits and what this means to their organisations, people and projects.
One of the founding partners for BIM Show Live, James Austin, Product Manager for Autodesk said:
“Last week we launched our call for papers for speakers for next years’ show, we’re looking for people who share our passion and want to spread the word throughout the UK and beyond, on why digital construction is an essential component in the modern-day built environment.”
“We want to encourage anyone with an idea to stand up and speak, so we are opening up this call for papers to all interested parties. We are especially appealing to first time, dynamic speakers to step forward, those with energy and a keenness to share new ideas.”
James stated that the call for papers is less of a rigid structure than in previous years, the reason being they want to get the environment right, and by doing so encourage knowledge-sharing with opportunities to develop relationships beyond the confines of a conversation around BIM. James added, they are looking for fresh ideas and new technologies which are having a genuine positive impacting on businesses.
Rob Charlton, Space Group CEO said: “In the past few years we felt the event had become a little too commercial and moved away from its original purpose; an event for early adopters of BIM, driven by quality content. Therefore we’re going back to our roots and focusing on innovation and insight for digital construction.
