Leon – Natural fast food

Leon

Natural fast food chain Leon offers diners an alternative to the fat-filled, sugary brands that typify a large part of the fast food landscape. Leon serves tasty, healthy dishes which have been inspired by the flavours, variety and natural healthiness of Mediterranean cooking.

Leon serves fast food classics like burgers and fries and also cater for diners with restricted diets by serving up a range of wheat free, gluten free, low in saturated fat, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Each dish has been expertly prepared to ensure the highest level of quality and each is just as delicious as the next.

Over the past few years, Leon restaurants have been popping up throughout the UK, from the West Midlands through to the South – there is even a Leon restaurant landside in Schiphol Airport Plaze, in Landside in The Netherlands. Restaurants within the Leon portfolio include Leon Liverpool Street, Leon Brighton, Leon Eastcastle Street, Leon Oxford, Leon London Bridge, Leon Fenchurch Street and Leon Brunswick.

Shone was the main contractor on Leon Brunswick, working alongside architects rpa:group. James Williams from the rpa:group was the project manager and professional M&E contractor, Synecore was responsible for all the mechanical and electrical works on the project.

Work began on Leon Brunswick at the end of June and reached completion at the beginning of August. In total, the programme lasted just five weeks – a rapid timeframe to transform a live retail unit into an F&B outlet.

Situated within a ground floor unit within the Brunswick Centre, the restaurant covers a space measuring 289 square meters and showcases a design that is bright and welcoming. The restaurant boasts plenty of seating, including banquettes and is rounded off with feature lighting, menu boards and a counter.

Internally the restaurant features a mix of concrete, timber and antique brass finishes, which together serve up a real industrial flavour. The exposed ceiling adds rawness to the design, which in turn reflects the stripped back, honest ingredients that make up the Leon dishes.

Externally, the unit features a glazed frontage complete with Leon signage and room for external seating.

Since opening, Leon Brunswick has been well-received by diners and continues the Leon ethos of offering a healthy alternative on the high street. The project was also another success for the Leon team.

Leon boasts a great collection of menus, from the breakfast and dinner menu to the all-day and the ‘bits in between’ menu – a snack menu for those peckish moments that tend to crop up during the day. Dishes across the Leon menus include the classic meatball hotbox, served with brown rice and slaw, the LEON x Gizzi turkey curry, the fish finger wrap and the full English pot – a full English breakfast, in a pot!

A children’s menu is also available in each Leon restaurant, along with a drinks menu packed with a range of coffees, teas, juices and more.

Chris Harris, Director of Project Management for the rpa:group, said:

“It provides us with great satisfaction that our client’s expectations are achieved and another superb facility is now open for business. We continue to work with Leon and are in the process of opening other new restaurants for this much loved brand in the UK.”
