Sugar Hut – Taking luxury to a new level

Sugar Hut

Liverpool’s smart new place to be seen, the newly opened ultra-luxurious Sugar Hut offers a unique ambience, combining stylish sophistication with relaxed comfort for dining, drinking and entertainment.

Located at 15 Victoria Street, the interior design of the stunning new venue maintains an environment of wall-to-wall elegance and glamour throughout, with an impressive series of spaces including a 60 cover dining room, a chic cocktail lounge and two club areas.

The new venue replaces The Living Room restaurant and bar, as well as a night club called Mosquito and a further VIP bar.

Exquisitely designed by Shaun Clarkson ID, Sugar Hut is located over three levels including ground, lower ground and basement, and features an all-in-one fine dining restaurant, bar, kitchen, cocktail lounge and private dining room on the ground floor, with two club rooms incorporating make up and powder rooms, a photo booth and 34 booth tables on the floors below.

Offering everything from coffee to cocktails, freshly cooked food, afternoon tea, bar snacks and drinks, the restaurant bar and cocktail lounge on the ground floor takes luxurious hospitality to a new level.

Shaun Clarkson, creative director of Shaun Clarkson ID said: “The design of the venue follows the Sugar Hut demographic of the place to see and be seen – whilst also being accessible and comfortable.

“The initial works included a large scale strip out of the original interior, pretty much to shell state and starting from scratch.

“The overall colour palette for the ground floor is pale pink and midnight blue, combined with rich dark woods and brass.

“The bar was completely refurbished with a granite top and quilted metallic finish frontage, and a large new kitchen was installed.

“New pale pink banquette seating with fluted detail was installed, together with bespoke powder coated brass lighting over the tables and bespoke ball lights. Further seating includes moveable and bar seating, and there is also a performance stage and a private dining area.

“Moving down to the lower ground level, the overall colour scheme includes fuchsia pink, navy blue and brass, with a ‘thunderbolt’ LED central lighting feature in the ceiling. The panelled bar features a brass and glass bottle display and fuchsia pink deep buttoned banquette seating booths are ranged around the perimeter of the space.”

The basement level is another stylish space featuring a low vaulted ceiling and original cast Victorian columns. This area includes silver leaf wallpaper and banquette seating in chic fiery red leather, with all the banquettes being back edge lit with colour changing LED lighting.

This level also includes a women’s vanity section complete with makeup counters and specially designed lighting. Also in the basement are the customer toilets, with the ladies’ being tiled in red and the men’s in blue tiles.

VIP areas are situated on each of the three floors and have their own dedicated entrance at the rear of the venue.

On the lower ground level the VIP area features navy blue leather seating and square mirror tiling, with copper/gold leather seating in the basement VIP section.
