TransPennine Express Achieves Investors In People Gold and Health and Wellbeing AwardTransPennine Express (TPE) has become the first train operator to achieve Investors in People (IiP) Gold accreditation against the latest sixth generation version of the people management Standard.

The company, which is one of the fastest growing train operators in the UK employing more than 1,000 colleagues was also recognised for its approach to workplace wellbeing with the Health & Wellbeing Award.

External assessors visited TPE and interviewed drivers, conductors, station staff and managers from across the business. Health and wellbeing was also recognised as a particular strength and TPE received a special award for its focus in this area.

We believe that your people make the difference and by investing in them you are looking to create sustainable success. IIP is designed to help organisations and their people to realise potential, providing a simple road map for excellence. With their Gold accreditation against the sixth generation Standard and focus on workplace wellbeing, TransPennine Express is certainly working to realise their people potential.”

Commenting on the award, Sue Whaley, Human Resources Director for TransPennine Express said: “This is excellent news and I’m proud that we’ve been recognised and are the first train operator to achieve this version of the national accreditation.
