Connaught Village

Connaught Village is the Hyde Park Estate’s luxury retail quarter and one of London’s hidden gems – an oasis of calm, near to Hyde Park and a short walk from Marble Arch and Oxford Street. The Village is home to an exclusive mix of independent retailers including Lucy Choi, ME+EM and Simon Burstein’s The Place London for Women and Men.

You’ll find an eclectic mix of stores with their own unique range of the latest fashions and the finest in vintage couture such as The Dresser, plus some of London’s best restaurants where you can sample a varied selection of the globes’ cuisines. Just like in the 1960s, the Village is still home to a great selection of galleries, studios, art dealers and designers ranging from the traditional to the contemporary.

Welcoming Connaught Wine Cellars

The latest addition to the Village’s unique range of food and drink spots, Connaught Wine Cellars is now open at 8 Porchester Place. Founded eight years ago by Director David Farber, as a private wine portfolio management company, Connaught Wine Cellars has now opened its first wine shop in the heart of Connaught Village.

The brand originally developed into a private wine club, giving members a chance to experience and enjoy wines at trade prices (with easy delivery options), however, with demand increasing, the company teamed up with Thierry Tomasin, owner of Angelus restaurant and began importing directly from a variety of acclaimed French and Italian producers.

Step inside this wine shop and discover their selection of French and Italian wines at trade prices – their range spanning from regional grapes to rare bottles produced by award-winning wine makers. Head downstairs where you’ll find an atmospheric tasting room that can be booked for tastings and private parties.

“The aim of Connaught Wine Cellars is to shine a light of the exciting innovation of Old World winemakers. We seek to balance our range with prestigious bottles, interesting regional grapes, and maverick wine makers who don’t always play by the rules – Tradition and innovation side by side. We offer serious wines but never take ourselves too seriously, wine is for enjoyment, best wines are the ones shared with friends, you will always be welcomed with a smile at Connaught Cellars.”
