This Month in Premier Construction 24.3

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction magazine.

In this month’s edition, we take a look at the latest work on Ulster General Hospital; we highlight a project for One Stop Doctors; and we cast out eye over yet more projects shortlisted for RICS Awards.

BakerHicks, the multi-disciplinary design and engineering business, has completed its part in the latest phase of the redevelopment of Ulster General Hospital, taking one of the largest hospital redevelopment projects in Europe one step closer to completion. The Inpatient Ward Block (IWB) saw the first patients move into wards last month. The seven-storey, 288 single bedroom facility is part of the Phase B Redevelopment Programme, which will provide the Ulster Hospital with two new ward blocks. BakerHicks is providing the Civil and Structural Design for Phase B, which began in 2013 and has attracted £232 million of investment.

Meanwhile, luxury interiors specialists Goddard Littlefair have completed the design of a £15m+ boundary-changing health and wellness clinic for innovative healthcare practitioners One Stop Doctors. The first One Stop Doctors clinic, in Hemel Hempstead, will set a new standard of excellence in the private healthcare sector, offering patients on-demand medical expertise, along with outpatient diagnostics (from blood, biopsy and health assessments to MRI, CT, digital X-ray and ultrasound), physiotherapy, dentistry and aesthetics – all located within a single ‘one stop’ clinic and available from early morning to late evenings and weekends, to fit with patients’ busy working lives.

And finally, The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure and construction. RICS regulate and promote the profession, in order to maintain high standards. In this month’s edition of Premier Construction, we take a look at a selection of projects all shortlisted for RICS Awards, including The Windmill, St Columbkilles R.C Church and Francis Crick Institute, amongst others.

With all this and more, join us as we explore the impressive construction projects that continue to shape our landscape.
