Emmitt Plant, one of the largest privately owned plant hire companies in the East of England, has expanded its Kubota fleet following a significant new deal with Hosplant, to meet the growing needs of the construction industry within the region.

Fuelled by major infrastructure projects, including flood defence work, a £1.5bn upgrade to the A14 in Cambridgeshire, the expansion of the Port of Felixstowe and a new £450m renewable energy park near Peterborough, forecasts predict up to 20,000 new construction jobs will be created in the East of England by 2021.

Emmitt Plant are already beginning to see the increase in demand for more hire equipment and has placed a large Kubota machinery order that sees the addition of 5x KX71-3’s, 4x KX080-4a’s, 4x U17-3a’s, 1x U48-4 and 1x KX016-4 excavators, strengthening its fleet to more than 140 machines.

The KX and U excavator series from Kubota are the most reliable and durable machines on the market to date. The excavator’s utilise Kubota’s latest industry-leading engine technology, designed to offer maximum fuel efficiency, minimal noise and vibration, as well as low emission levels that meet current regulations.

The machine order features Kubota’s latest 8 tonne excavator. Superseding the KX080-4, the new KX080-4a (Alpha) is the cleanest emission excavator in its class, and utilises the latest technological advancements to ensure the machines performance and productivity far exceed that of its competitors.

Ron Chidgey, Managing Director of Emmitt Plant, commented: “It’s great to see the huge investment that is going into infrastructure projects within the region. This not only provides more jobs for local workers, but also increases the need for equipment that is reliable and performs to the highest standards.

“We have been using Kubota excavators since the early 1990s and the fact that we’re still adding the manufacturers machines to our fleet nearly 30 years later is a great testament to the quality of the equipment. The dependability, ease of maintenance and performance of the machines will play a vital role in the continued growth of the construction sector within the East of England.”

Hosplant was founded more than ten years ago and has been working with Kubota in the supply of mini excavator’s to the Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk territories since 2011.

Gary Mold, Director at Hosplant, said: “We’re delighted to be working with such a highly regarded hire company such as Emmitt Plant. As a dealer who provides equipment to a diverse range of customers, we are fully aware of the need to maintain a fleet that can meet the needs of various applications within the industry. We’re glad we are able to help Emmitt Plant better meet the demands of its customers through the addition of new Kubota machinery.”
