TransPennine Express has been announced as the proud sponsor of ITV Granada and Border Weather.
The train company will be using this opportunity to showcase their latest âWhere Next?â campaign, which promotes some of the great destinations across the North of England and Scotland, whether itâs checking out one of Manchesterâs latest art exhibitions, or heading over to Newcastle for a night on the toon.
From today, Monday 5 June, ITV viewers in the North West and Borders regions will begin seeing TransPennine Express as part of daily weather bulletins. The TV spot takes on a documentary style, following people from right across the North who are enjoying whatâs great about our part of the world.
Commenting on the new partnership, Caroline Anchor, Head of Marketing for TransPennine Express said: âWe are thrilled to have teamed up with ITV Weather. This is a great opportunity for us to promote some of the North and Scotlandâs much-loved destinations while letting people know âweatherâ to pack some sun cream or a brolley.â
TransPennine Expressâ vision of Taking the North Further will see an investment of ÂŁ500million to improve the Northâs railway over the course of the next three years.
Brand new trains will be introduced across the TransPennine Express network starting from 2018, with 220 new carriages being brought in by 2020, providing an additional 13million seats a year for customers.
The companyâs existing train fleet will shortly undergo a major makeover, which also includes the addition of free on-board Wi-Fi and entertainment system.
