COYA – A Taste of Peru

COYA

World leading Latin American restaurant group, COYA, has launched it second London site on the ground floor of the new 24-storey Angel Court development. Welcoming customers since the beginning of May, COYA Angel Court is an all-day venue that incorporates the buzz of a Latin American bar and a contemporary Peruvian restaurant.

Located in the heart of the City, COYA Angel Court will showcase a menu of seasonal dishes overseen by Executive Chef Sanjay Dwivedi. Chef Dwivedi combines traditional elements of Peruvian cuisine with modern European cooking techniques and Asian influences to create COYA’s naturally light and healthy dishes.

Guests will be taken on a Latin American journey from the moment they step foot into the 170-cover restaurant’s welcoming entrance. The restaurant and colourful destination bar – Pisco Lounge – have been designed by London-based Sagrada who are part of the design team for all COYA venues worldwide.

All furnishings are bespoke and have been hand-selected. The entrance and Pisco Lounge have been filled with Peruvian trinkets and staple hand crafted furniture. Within the restaurant, an intricately designed and hand carved six seater ‘Rum Round Table’ will be unique to COYA Angel Court and available for guests to enjoy a bottle of fine rum throughout their visit. For a more exclusive lunch or dinner option, two private dining rooms will be available to reserve, with the larger seating up to 18 guests and its own private terrace.

Sanjay has created a selection of signature dishes for COYA Angel Court including Lobster Ceviche with Gazpacho and Aji Limo; Cuttlefish Ceviche with Ginger, Yuzu and Squid Ink; and a Whole Leg of Lamb, Josper fired, served with Chifa Vegetables. An express menu has also been introduced for lunch to cater to the demand in providing fast, premium dishes.

The Pisco Lounge highlights an impressive collection of fine and rare wines and spirits, a comprehensive Pisco library and a menu map of cocktails to take guests on a journey to discover Latin American flavours. Signature drinks include the South American classic, The Pisco Sour, and a COYA favourite, the Chilli Margarita, both given a secret twist exclusive to COYA Angel Court. Adjacent to the Pisco Lounge will be a DJ booth, welcoming international talent throughout the year.

With a dedicated art collective, that regularly hosts programmes and pop-up exhibitions, COYA brings together art, music and culture from all over Latin America, the UK and beyond.

The 24-storey development COYA Angel Court takes its name from was completed in February 2017. The latest addition to the continually evolving London skyline, Angel Court boasts 300,000 sq ft of prime office space in the heart of London’s financial district.

Initial feedback on the restaurant has been extremely positive. The COYA group is renowned for being industry leaders in combining Latin American spirit and London-style nightlife, to provide guests with an all-round dining and entertainment experience.

COYA’s flagship London restaurant launched in London in November 2012 and two years later COYA Mayfair took home the title of ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’ at the London Lifestyle Awards. Enchaining the gastronomic experience, COYA Mayfair also showcases a variety of established and upcoming photographers, artists, illustrators and sculptors as part of COYA Collective. COYA Collective is a signature movement that defines the brand’s ethos and beliefs, allowing guests to not only dine but experience COYA with all the senses.

As well as the two London sites, COYA also has venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Miami. Further expansion into to Asia is planned with potential sites in Shanghai, Singapore and Seoul. For more on COYA Angel Court or to keep up with future openings please visit coyarestaurant.com.
