DSC_6341REL has completed the electrical works for a new £12m recycling and waste collection depot in London.

Constructed by Wilmott Dixon, the Oakleigh Road South Vehicle depot, will allow Barnet Council to operate and maintain its waste and recycling collection fleet from a single site. The facility includes a vehicle maintenance building, cleaning bay, office areas, and refuelling and recycling facilities.

REL’s scope of works included installing services such as power, lighting, alarms, surveillance systems, access control and an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) System. The contract also comprised the supply and installation of electric vehicle charging points, and PV panels on the depot’s roof.

Kershaw Mechanical Services appointed REL to deliver the project.

Toby Buckley, managing director of REL said: “We’re pleased to have successfully handed over this project, which builds on our long-standing relationship with Willmott Dixon and Kershaw.

“This is an advanced facility with a broad range of electrical services that will ensure optimum efficiency, the highest levels of security and energy savings.”
