Expo focus – The Flood Expo 2017 looks set to break all records

The programme for the Flood Expo is almost complete, and all signs point to this being the largest and most influential event in the show’s four-year history. Free tickets for this year’s event are still available and are likely to prove priceless when the doors swing open at the ExCeL London on the 27th & 28th of September.

With climate change increasing the risks of extreme weather and floods, finding the latest solutions to help mitigate this rising threat is something that both public and private sector organisations are growing increasingly concerned with – and for good reason.

The show – which is supported by the Environment Agency and the world’s largest event designed to showcase the innovations that further the way flooding is predicted, prevented, and managed – has attracted some of the industry’s largest names, reinforcing its growing reputation as the premier exhibition & conference in the industry.

The two-day event features over 200 innovative suppliers, 100 CPD-accredited seminars, revealing case studies, live demonstrations on the River Thames, interactive panel debates, one-to-one advice from industry experts, unparalleled networking opportunities, and much more.

Over 2,500 professionals working in flood defence, prevention, resilience, and risk management, as well as business owners looking for the innovations that will keep their property safe, will attend the Flood Expo and transform the capital into the hub of the industry.

An impressive line-up of 100 expert-led, CPD-accredited seminars will take place over the show’s seven theatres. Headliners for this year’s show include NASA’s Dr David Green, MET Office’s Dr Nick Dunstone, the MOD’s Colonel Leigh Drummond MBE, Mary Dhonau OBE, University of Exeter’s Albert Chen from the Centre for Water Systems, Flood Protection Solutions’ Simon Crowther, AECOM’s Steve Cook, Ambiental’s Daniel Cook, and many more.

Expert-led seminars and discussions will also be led on how sizing up floods from space will change the industry, the MOD’s role in response to floods, forecasting the floods of the future, what we have learnt in the 10 years since the Gloucestershire floods, flood risk modelling, changes in flood policy, innovations in flood prevention, and other exciting topics.

Major names already staking their claim to the growing floorplan include Alton Pumps, Brokk UK, Cemex, Marshalls, Wavin, Crocodile Flood, Adler & Allan, Ebsford Environmental, Cunningham Lindsey, and more – making this year’s show the most important and influential in the industry this year!

They, along with the other leading environmental organisations will be unveiling new products, offering free one-to-one advice, and answering any questions you may have.

Furthermore, a visitor’s free ticket to the show will not only give them access to the Flood Expo, but also to the two other industry-leading events running alongside the exhibition – the Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo (M&CCE Expo) and the Contamination Expo Series.

Flood Expo

Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo

The close relationship between the three shows means that flood professionals will find information and innovations relevant to them and their business at all three events.

At the M&CCE Expo, visitors will find the UK’s most exciting platform for global infrastructural solutions and innovative engineering concepts in coastal and marine projects.

The likes of Tideman Boats and Meercat Workboats will be exhibiting and running live demonstrations on the Thames, while talks by experts such as EDF’s Marine Area Construction Manager, Rob Holtom, will provide an exceptional level of industry knowledge.

Contamination Expo Series

In the neighbouring Contamination Expo Series is the standout event of the year for contamination professionals and showcases the latest strategies, techniques and technologies that further the protection of the environment and management of contaminated land, water and air.

It’s audience is made up of high profile visitors from some of the world’s largest and most relied-upon environmental organisations and decision makers from: major international airports, councils, specialist consultancies, construction firms, and land and property owners.

Major names already staking their claim to the growing floorplan include ALS Environmental, Coleman Remediation, Braemar Howells, C A Blackwell, DEME Environmental Consultants, ARCA, ACAD, Exova Jones, CL:AIRE, EIC, Blobel Umwelttechnik Gmbh, ISAA, Raw Group, Oil Spill Response, Shield Environmental, SMH Products, AEC, MOLDEX, CNSE, IATP, among others.
