Saint Cloud Residence

A three-storey villa located in one of Paris’ exclusive suburbs has undergone a complete interior makeover to create a stunning family home that blends style with luxurious comfort. The residence, located in the trendy suburb of Saint Cloud, backs onto the leafy park of the same name and offers fantastic views of the French capital.

The project was significant from a number of standpoints, including the fact it was the first from Atelier Tristan Auer, Wilson Associates Paris. The practice, a collaboration between Tristan Auer and Wilson Associates, was formed in 2015 and offers a full-range of design services in the hospitality, retail and residential sectors. The news that the Saint Cloud residence has now been shortlisted for a SBID award was the perfect way to celebrate nearly two years in operation for the studio.

Neil Rawson, Senior Designer on the project spoke to Premier Construction about this, as well as giving an overview of the house design:

“The brief we were given for the project was quite loose as the client wanted to see our creative input.

“It was fantastic to hear the project had been nominated for a SBID award and it was quite unexpected really. Our office has been here for nearly two years now and it’s a collaboration between Atelier Tristan Auer and Wilson Associates. I was here at the beginning and this is actually our first project so the award nomination is a great start.

“For us as a team this project was a fabulous opportunity. It was great to work with a team of highly skilled contractors, suppliers and artisans. I think the reason the project was completed in such a short timeframe was the great team. We’re really proud of the finished product and what we’ve been able to achieve with a variety of furniture and materials.”

Prominent design features include a central staircase that is flooded in natural light by the roof light installed by the buildings previous owner and enhanced by the Atelier. The living room boasts a suspended rotating fireplace while much of the homes decoration is provided by an eclectic art collection. Neil added:

“We had two artists working on the project. We had seen the work of one of them in a café in Paris and we got in touch to about doing some sketches for the children’s bedrooms. We had another artist who had a more classical approach and did the drawings for the dressing room. He had also worked on a number of palaces in the Middle East.”

With just 6 months to complete the job, the timeframe proved to be the project’s most challenging aspect. While the design may look simple from a distance, it actually features a number of sophisticated details.

Practical and functional for a family lifestyle yet high quality in its design, the Saint Cloud residence has been deservedly recognised for its décor, ambiance, style and mood.
