VQ Restaurants

VQ Restaurants has opened its latest venture in Aldgate, London on the ground floor of Dorsett City Hotel. The restaurant will be open 24 hours a day and will also serve as a bar for customers.

The launch is the fourth VQ have completed in the capital, with the brand publically announcing they wish to open a further 10 sites over the next three years.

VQ’s menu provides visitors with ‘comfort food and traditional classics’ in an environment which promotes relaxation.

Their all-day menu boasts enticing small dishes like Halloumi Fries with tzatziki and Merguez Sausages with harissa and aioli dips, along with a range of pastas, burgers, salads and classics like chicken Kiev or BBQ Ribs.

In addition there is also a tempting selection of traditional British puddings to finish, including a warm sticky toffee pudding and a crowd-pleasing apple crumble and custard.

In recognition of the city’s love affair with breakfast, diners will be able to order from the breakfast menu 24 hours a day, which showcases classics such as eggs benedict and buttermilk pancakes.

Designed by BusbyWebb, you can expect the 60 cover restaurant and 30 cover bar to have the same classical finish as sister sites in Notting Hill, Chelsea and Bloomsbury, with comfort being valued just as much as looks. The décor will feature warm wood panelling and guests can recline in snug leather banquettes and booths.

James Coates, Interior director at BusbyWebb who oversaw this aspect of the project spoke of the experience during an interview with Premier:

“Our main design challenge was to lift the interior and brand from the café diners that are so loved in VQ’s other London locations, to that of a premium restaurant and bar experience suitable for the city and the four star hotel above.

“We retained the brand essence successfully by simplifying design elements whilst introducing darker and more luxurious tones and materials to the palette. I think what we have achieved is a space suitable for a wide range of customers and uses, from private lunch meetings to sophisticated evening cocktails, which is the core of VQ’s offer and appeal.”

The aesthetic can be described as stylish, contemporary, functional and relaxed so guests can feel at home, regardless of the time. In addition the restaurant has also obtained a 24 hour bar license to ensure they maximise their working potential.

With the VQ at Dorsett City Hotel now joining the group’s family of London Restaurants, this is the latest push for the as it tries to reinvigorate the capitals night-time offering.
