Tommy Hilfiger Oxford Westgate
Oxford Westgate shopping centre is home to the 12th Tommy Hilfiger store in the United Kingdom as the iconic brand continues to add to a growing portfolio of stores around the world. The store spans over 260 square metres and occupies a prominent location in the brand new Westgate development.
The design of the new store reflects the Tommy Hilfiger global retail concept, which fuses the brand’s heritage with clean, modern finishes and a bright, airy aesthetic. The use of large areas of glass in the storefront fill the entire space with natural light that compliments the store’s polished surfaces to give the whole store a contemporary feel.
To deliver this new store the Tommy Hilfiger concept team worked alongside the rpa:group and their retail architectural team. Chris Swann of rpa:group’s retail architecture team said:
“This is traditional Tommy presented in a fresh and modern way that will pleasantly surprise the Hilfiger customer, whilst retaining the essence of the brand’s DNA.”
The Tommy concept team have given the look of the new store a nautical accent, which underlines Tommy Hilfiger’s personal sources of inspiration. The nautical look is underpinned throughout the store through the use of walnut, lacquered surfaces and bespoke polished steel detailing, whilst the light oak flooring lends the visual cue of a ship’s deck. The store also features bespoke TH Jacquard and chevron patterned rugs and mid-century light fittings that underscore the signature colours of the brand.
The new store showcases the Fall 2017 collections for men’s, women’s, and TOMMY JEANS capsule collection. The Fall 2017 men’s and women’s collections are inspired by Tommy Hilfiger’s love of rock music, with a touch of glamour and nostalgia, and the TOMMY JEANS capsule collection revisits its HILFIGER DENIM label’s iconic heritage, adding a fresh twist on tradition.
There are over 1,800 TOMMY HILFIGER stores in over 100 countries worldwide including global flagships in five locations: Fifth Avenue, New York; Brompton Road, London; Omotesando, Tokyo; Regent Street, London; and Schadowstraße, Düsseldorf.
