Grand Pacific : A grand affair

Grand Pacific by Living Ventures, is a colonial styled bar and restaurant, situated at the top end of Manchester’s King Street. Housed within the renowned Grade II listed Manchester Reform Club, Grand Pacific lures guests with its enticing atmosphere and all-day offering and has become a firm favourite since it first opened its doors back in March 2017.

Such is the success of Grand Pacific, not only has the bar and restaurant proved to be a city centre hotspot, it has also landed on the judges radar for this year’s Casual Dining Awards – a very impressive feat. The venue is currently shortlisted for two awards, the sought after ‘New Casual Dining Concept of the Year’ and the mighty ‘Best Designed Pub/Bar of the Year’, while Grand Pacific owners Living Ventures are themselves in the running for the prestigious ‘Casual Dining Group of the Year’ award.

Grand Pacific

Both the Grand Pacific and Living Ventures face stiff competition from their peers, but both have proved themselves time and time again. Living Ventures are experts in the field when it comes to hospitality, while Grand Pacific boasts a beautiful design, rich with heritage and splendour.

With deep button upholstery, palm trees, and cut crystal abacus inspired screens, Grand Pacific pays homage to its location in the original financial district of the city. The building was home to one of the first Manchester dining clubs so original features of the property have been incorporated into the tranquil, classic interior created by Interior Designer, Michelle Derbyshire.

The 3000 square foot space merges tropical influences of the Pacific Ocean with old world grandeur and the stylish pineapple logo – which features across the Grand Pacific branding – could not be more fitting for the venue’s philosophy. Since pineapples were discovered in the early 15th century they have symbolised prosperity, generosity and hospitality. Grand Pacific recreates the golden age of high society with a comfortable, relaxed charm accompanied by great service.

Living Ventures CEO Jeremy Roberts described Grand Pacific “as a place to relax, eat and drink and just enjoy some of the pleasures of life.” He said: “It is our privilege and pleasure to let it continue to be what it was always meant to be.”

The 120 cover restaurant and bar at Grand Pacific offers informal dining from lunchtime through to the evening, blending flavours from exotic places with English classics. The feature twenty-five seat Long Bar is inspired by Raffles Hotel in Singapore and plays host to expert mixologists creating bespoke cocktails filled with imported fine spices and intriguing botanicals.

At the weekend a ‘Classical Sunday lunch’ is available at Grand Pacific, with roast beef carved at the table and live music from the Grand Pacific Palm Court Group. High tea is an indulgent affair filled with exotic sweet delights from far-away places with specially blended fragrant teas and Champagne cocktails.

By night Grand Pacific takes on a high spirited atmosphere with a late license and DJs playing eclectic tunes whilst the lights go low and the cocktails flow. Open from 12 noon with a range of dining options all day, Grand Pacific very much looks forward to making your acquaintance.
