Caribbean Hotel Launches Exclusive Beverage Products for its Milestone Birthday

Caribbean Hotel Launches Exclusive Beverage Products for its Milestone Birthday
Written by Amy

A luxury Caribbean resort Cap Maison in St Lucia is set to celebrate its 10th Anniversary since its opening this October. As part of this milestone celebration, the resort has created four exclusive beverage products that pay tribute to Cap Maison’s heritage, using local ingredients that give guests a real taste of Saint Lucia.

The Cap Maison Improper St. Lucian Ale

As part of this collection of premium beverages, Cap Maison has teamed up with the Antilla Brewing Company to create the ‘Cap Maison Improper St. Lucian Ale’. Crafted exclusively for the resort using local Golden Apple, the unfiltered golden ale is a complex beer that balances malt, alcohol and citric hops, and makes for a light and refreshing sip at 5% VOL.

The Cap Maison 10-year-old Solera Cask Rum

After an exclusive onsite aging process in the Cap Maison cellar, the 10-year-old Solera Cask Rum has been distilled by St. Lucia Distillers using both pot and column stills, producing a refined and clear spirit. Following the aging in Old Port barrels, the rum was then aged at Cap Maison using the infamous “Solera” ageing system in 10L white oak medium tasting barrels, all under the watchful eye of the in-house “rummier”.

On the nose, one can distinguish layers of dried fruit aromas, along with roasted Arabica coffee, toast, leather and tobacco leaf, followed by bourbon vanilla, and smokey notes. On the palate, the Solera Cask Rum shows great depth with wood-aged complexity, spice and rich chocolate tones. At 43% VOL, this premium rum can be enjoyed neat, or with one large ice cube.

The Solera 10-year-old Aged Rum Punch

Aged and bottled within the confines of the Cap Maison cellar, the Solera 10-year-old Aged Rum Punch is made from 100% St. Lucian rums, also using the “Solera” aging system as the resort’s aged and blended rum. An ideal refresher under the summer sun, the beverage is also made with fresh lime, cane sugar, solera rum and angostura bitters at 60% VOL.

Cap Maison’s 10th Anniversary House Red Wine for 2018

In collaboration with South African wine producer in Stellenbosch, De Toren, Cap Maison’s house red wine for this year is entitled “Diversity”. A major attraction towards this collaboration is the opening line of De Toren’s website: “It started with a view”, which resonates with the resort in terms of location and future visualisation.

Diversity is a Bordeux blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. A dark, rich and perfumed bottle, Diversity nurtures all the characteristics of a classic Bordeaux to the nose. To taste, one can enjoy the deep and dark fruit flavours with supporting layers of oriental spice, rose petal and slight minerality.

Cap Maison’s 10th Anniversary Celebration

In addition to the launch of these products, Cap Maison is set to host a fabulous 3-day event across the anniversary weekend for past, present and new guests alike. From the 5th – 7th October, guests will enjoy a formal cocktail and dinner at the renowned The Cliff at Cap restaurant on the first evening, followed the next day by the main event of a dinner with special menu and a live band, then a rooftop afterparty, and closing the celebrations with an all all-day beach party at The Naked Fisherman.
