Award-winning Woodilee Village

Located on Woodilee Road in the heart of Lenzie, Woodilee Village is the first major housing development to take place in the area for over 20 years.

The exciting new project is under construction on a site previously occupied by Woodilee Hospital and once complete will provide stylish, contemporary accommodation in Lenzie and Kirkintilloch.

Woodilee Village will offer a range of modern units from lavish apartments to spacious family homes. Green communal areas will also be incorporated into the site to encourage residents to take advantage of nearby woodland walks.

The tree lined development will also include the refurbishment of two B Listed buildings and boast a new community shop, children’s play area, a crèche and a multi-purpose sports facility.

The project has been designed and built by CALA Homes and will include a number of stunning fixtures and fittings.

The attractive flagship development comprises 56 spacious, detached four and five-bedroom properties from CALA Homes’ new signature collection. The fashionable houses feature galleried landings, spacious bedrooms and high quality fittings with comfort being an essential requirement of the build.

Internally, the properties will be furnished with pendant light fittings, oak veneered pass doors and pre-finished crafted timber stair balustrades and handrails.

The kitchens have been individually studio designed with an emphasis on workspace and storage, with integrated appliances fitted throughout.

Sanitaryware will be derived from the Laufen range and will be offset by Hansgrohe taps and fittings. Bathrooms will comprise shower enclosures with a silver finish and Hansgrohe shower valves and heads and baths will be served by a thermostatic combined bath filler and hand held spray set.

The houses on Woodilee Village also incorporate a number of energy reduction features along with a substantial amount of insulation which will help to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions produced by the properties each year. The measures that CALA Homes is taking to reduce emissions exceed the regulations set in 2007.

Externally, the project involves a substantial amount of landscaping and groundwork that will conform to the planned designs. The plots will consist of a garage with driveways that will be monoblocked, along with front and rear gardens that will be graded, rough raked and renovated. The rear gardens will also be equipped with timber decking – located at the back of the garden – as well as rotary driers and a linked path.

In addition, each plot will feature a 1.8 metre high palisade fence that will divide the rear gardens of each building and will be unit specific – with various service strips and walls included. Additional landscaping will include car parking.

The site manager on the Woodilee Village development, Michael Carrigan of CALA Homes recently won the NHBC Pride in the Job award for the project.

The award winning site offers striking properties that are a combination of design and comfort. CALA has created a vibrant and sustainable community that has been designed to look collectively stunning, to suit its surroundings and to maintain a high-level of quality over time.
