Ground Source Heating Incentives

Ground Source Heating

The governments Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive will be open for applications next spring.

The tariff payment for ground source heatpumps will be 18.8 pence per kilowatt hour of renewable heat generated for 7 years. The consumption will be calculated on a deemed basis, and will use the figure from the Energy Performance Certificate. A 12kw Heatpump can generate £29,000 in RHI revenue over seven years, and halve heating bills.

The government plans to increase the Non Domestic RHI to between 7.2 and 8.2 pence per kilowatt hour of generated heat for twenty years. Schemes commissioned since 21st January 2013 are eligible for this payment, from next spring.

Domestic properties which share a heatpump system will be eligible for the Non Domestic RHI. The new tariffs will also apply to schemes larger than 100kw. A 60kw Heatpump can generate £210,000 in RHI revenue over twenty years, and halve heating bills.

Earthtest Energy supply underfloor heating, low temperature radiators, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, together with a ground source heatpump system. The company ensures heating bills are minimised and full benefits of the Renewable Heat Incentive accrue.
