Dear readers,

Welcome to the first new-look edition of Premier Construction magazine.

This month we unveil a new flagship Ford development in Sunderland; we take a look at the construction of a £6.5 million medical centre in Wigston; and we take to the bowling alley with Brooklyn Bowl.

At the beginning of 2014, the North East’s largest independent motor group, Benfield continued its capital investment programme with the opening of a new £5.8 million dealership. The new Ford development is located on Newcastle Road, Sunderland and is now one of the largest Ford dealerships in the region.

Speaking to Premier Construction, Benfield’s Chief Executive, Mark Squires, said:

“The Ford brand is steeped in tradition and has a great and successful history in this region. Moving into Sunderland in this way is a natural geographic fit for Benfield and we are very much looking forward to developing and expanding the Benfield brand and reputation in Wearside.

“The development took eight months to construct, created 45 jobs and is a tremendous example of the Benfield and Ford brands working together to provide a world-class retail experience with unrivalled customer service.”

Meanwhile over in Leicestershire, work has begun on the ‘Two Spires Medical Centre’ in Wigston. The centre will replace four practices that currently serve the area and will comprise a state-of-the-art facility offering patients access to improved services. The medical centre, which is located at the former South Leicestershire College site, will give patients access to a far wider range of services including minor surgery as well as a purpose built clinical suite.

And finally, located within The O2 in North Greenwich and supported by venue owners AEG, Brooklyn Bowl is a 32,000 sq ft multi-part entertainment venue, comprising a live music arena, a bowling alley, three bars and a restaurant overseen by award winning chef Bruce Bromberg. Brooklyn Bowl opened its lanes for the first time in January 2014 and with its unique take on music and bowling it is already proving to be a sure fire hit.

With all this and more, join us as we delve into the impressive projects that continue to shape our landscape.
