Dear readers,

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction magazine.

This month we profile leading contractor Broadway Construction; we look at the improvements taking place at Somerville Primary School; and we unveil the refurbishment of Eventim Apollo. With more than 32 years experience in the industry, Broadway Construction is a principle contractor operating across a range of sectors, from health, commercial industrial warehouse, education and new build schemes, to high-end residential projects and new build housing in the public sector. Broadway Construction has many clients, who are integral to the company’s success, with names including Harrods, Nestl., Eton College, GlaxoSmithKline, Riversmead Housing Association and Tefal, amongst others.

Broadway Construction has an exceptional track record in the delivery of high quality projects and in this issue we take a look at some of their portfolio of projects. Located in Wallasey, Wirral, Merseyside, Somerville Primary

School is a part of Wirral Local Authority and caters for infants and juniors within the surrounding community. The school is currently undergoing a three-phased project designed to improve existing facilities, which will not only provide pupils with new learning spaces but will also introduce a new school hall which has potential for community use.

And finally, situated in Hammersmith, London, Eventim Apollo (more recently the HMV Hammersmith Apollo) is a grand, Grade II* Listed building and one of the most famous music venues in the UK. Originally designed by Robert Cromie, the building started life as a cinema before becoming a leading name in performance spaces, playing home to the cr.me de la cr.me of the music world. Keen to keep the venue as a headliner in its own right, venue owners AEG Live recently implemented a £5 million restoration scheme, along with a name change, in order to bring the Apollo back to its former glory. The project was divided into three phases, two of which have been completed, with the final phase set for later this year.

With all this and more, join us as we delve into the impressive projects that continue to shape our landscape.
