1608 Champagne Bar

Alexander House, West Sussex

The construction of a brand new 1608 Champagne Bar at 5 Star Alexander House Hotel is now complete and was officially unveiled to the public in February this year.

The project saw the hotel’s Library merged with a private meeting room to create a comfortable Champagne Bar that overlook the site’s stunning gardens.

Alexander House Hotel dates back to the 17th Century and the new 1608 Champagne Bar has been named after the year Alexander House is believed to have been built. The bar’s opening was attended by many high profile individuals from the surrounding area of West Sussex including the hotel’s Owner and Managing Director; Peter Hinchcliffe.

The development took approximately six weeks and saw two rooms of moody oak transformed into a stylish champagne and cocktail bar. The room’s original oak panelling was retained ensuring the venue’s heritage and historic charm is still prevalent despite the modern touches the space has been given.

The bar houses a dramatic fireplace, and an array of dusty tomes adorns the walls blending in perfectly with the new tones of green and pebble grey. The shades of grey transform the room into a light and airy space, as well as highlighting the woods original details and carvings.

A choice of comfortable seating has also been installed in the space and the bar itself is an impressive masterpiece. Radiant lighting and polished mirrors create a striking backdrop for the impressive selection of Champagne, spirits, blends and whisky’s lining the shelves. The drinks available in the bar include a new and notable cocktail menu, accompanied by over 30 different hand-picked Champagnes, 20 brandies, 15 gins and 145 wines.
