Soho Grind

Soho Grind, Soho, London

Set on Beak Street, London, Soho Grind is a brand new coffee shop which opened to the public in May this year.

Soho Grind’s older brother, the stylish and successful Shoreditch Grind has served its own exclusive blend of coffee for three years now; naming itself an espresso bar, cocktail bar and recording studio. Having expanded from one site to two, the owners secured a contract with Bluegroup Retail to complete the developments.

The Grind brand is the brainchild of DJ and musician Kaz James and entrepreneur David Abrahamovitch. They twosome joined forces after realising that the addition of a coffee and cocktail bar would be most welcome amongst the locals; as it delivered a setting for a quick boost of caffeine in the day or alcoholic beverage later in the evening.

The newest addition to the Grind brand, located in Soho, has its own blends of cocktails enriched with Soho coffee beans for a clever punchy alcoholic buzz in a glass, making it a very attractive venue to locals and passersby. The venue also houses a recording studio upstairs, linking to Kaz’s musical background, and has seen many well known artists including Pixie Lott, Sam Smith, Tinie Tempah and Chromeo pass through its doors.

Another feature of the Grind brand is the innovative house coffee blends which includes a set of seasonal flavours with a variety of tastes. Soho Grind employs a selection of friendly Baristas that are welcoming, highly trained and enthusiastic. Regular customers to Soho Grind are rewarded with a Black Card which thanks loyal customers via a scheme of unbeatable offers.

Like the Shoreditch branch, the Soho venue houses a 60-cover bar serving customers throughout the day and late night. Guests can taste Grind’s own exclusive custom blend of coffee or the delicious cocktails which are available in the speak-easy cocktail bar downstairs in the basement. Many of the bars cocktail offers have been designed especially for Soho, as well as containing the classic favourites such as the Grind Espresso Martini and the Hot Flat White Russian.

The venue also serves food all day. Soho Grind’s menu includes an array of pastries for breakfast, Italian inspired sandwiches and salads for lunch, as well as apperitivo dishes and sharing plates available for those wanting to partake in their evening meal at the venue. The venue encourages sociable dining amongst friends and groups of people and is a warm and inviting space to relax within.

The bar is full of innovative design features including a sliding door in the basement which exposes the venues cocktail den. A hidden speak-easy system is also integrated into the space and can be revealed when the sliding door is utilised. Both Soho Grind and Shoreditch Grind set out to stand out from other coffee shops by involving music and cocktails in their offer. The music and recording studio has played an integral part within the space, creating a great atmosphere which boosts the overall customer experience.
