WPS- New generation of pay-on-foot parking

A new generation of highly reliable pay-on-foot parking management technology that combines best-in-class mechanical, electronic and software engineering with the highest levels of functionality, versatility and design has been launched by WPS in the UK, the parking equipment manufacturer and installer.

Designed with some of the most challenging parking environments in mind, especially shopping centres and transport hubs where the customer experience is vital, the WPS ParkAdvanceā„¢ system is built around a new IP-based operating system architecture that enables it to simply and directly connect with multiple technologies being deployed in car parks both now and in the future.

Cleverly designed and intuitive to use, the high quality paystations feature full colour display screens that are fully configurable from a central control room, and can include audio/video instructions and a two-way video intercom to assist customers where needed.

At a practical level, the technology has comprehensive cash and card handling options as well as accommodating the latest payment technologies, and integrates seamlessly with a wide range of ā€˜identifiersā€™ from barcoded tickets and smart cards through to automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).

Simon Jarvis, Managing Director of WPS in the UK, said that the technologyā€™s foremost attribute is the simplicity of its interconnectivity:

ā€œThe IP-based architecture enables a number of possibilities including: online/remote back up; direct web interfaced reservations; and the ease of access and management of loyalty schemes including full integration with online apps.

ā€œMore than this,ā€ he continued, ā€œit facilitates payment through third party apps, online data reporting, and self-managing subscribers both via integrated internet and paystation routes.

ā€œIt is, in effect, future proof, and its reliability and durability is such that it provides a safe, long-term investment for any potential purchaser wishing to operate and manage single or multiple sites.ā€

The durability of the ParkAdvanceā„¢ terminals is evidenced through their high quality plated steel and aluminium housing and proven, best in market, internal components, with the LCD full colour displays and integrated intercom built-in. Streaming of on-screen advertising is an option for operators seeking to further increase revenues, and the technology incorporates the latest in highly accurate theft and fraud protection measures.

Modular and modern in design, the terminals can be wall mounted and come in a range of different colours including blue, yellow and red to match a particular need or design.

WPS is a business of IMTECH, the global providers of technical solutions within the transport environment.
