Soil Engineering has been an integral part of the geotechnical sector since 1963.

The company is now one of the UK’s leading geotechnical contractors with a proven capability in all elements of ground investigation and stabilisation. Soil Engineering has developed four principal business strands each of which offer independent or interlinked services to the company’s clients. These business strands comprise Ground Investigation Services, Drilling and Grouting Services, Technical Services, Laboratory Services and Specialist Services.

The firm is able to deliver site investigation projects of the highest quality thanks to a large team of drilling crews, site supervisors, field technicians, geotechnical and geo-environmental engineers.

Soil Engineering has teamed up with Headland Archaeology to offer clients a one stop shop approach to site investigations. Their new Intelligent Site Investigation Service brings together two of the UK’s largest contractors to combine geotechnical and archaeological expertise. This service is sure to save clients time as well as money.

The Drilling and Grouting Service offers clients a wealth of experience having had over 40 years experience of providing ground treatment services in the UK. Since their inception the department has successfully completed over 1500 contracts, valued between ÂŁ1000 and ÂŁ5 million.

Experienced management teams, site agents and field operatives utilise Soil Engineering’s fleet of company owned plant in order to provide a comprehensive drilling and grouting service. The department so far has facilitated the completion of some of the UK’s largest ground treatment and stabilisation projects. The firm’s flexible approach is down to having access to extensive in house resources, which enables them to undertake projects of any size, from smaller, more technically challenging projects through to large scale treatment schemes.

Soil Engineering Technical Services are able to manage client’s projects from inception through to completion, encompassing desk study, Phase II design and implementation, laboratory testing as well as interpretative report services.

The firm also has a Geotechnical Laboratory which is located in Leeds. The laboratory is one of the largest single site UKAS ISO 17025 accredited geotechnical testing laboratories in Britain and allows the firm to advise clients on all manner of geotechnical and environmental issues.

Since their inception the firms has worked with an array of high profile clients across the UK. these include Network Rail, Transport Scotland, The Coal Authority, Glasgow City Council, Montrose Port authority, Thames Water Utilities Ltd, Associated British Ports, Halton Borough Council and VINCI Construction, to name but a few.

The firm offers UK wide coverage for all their services, operating from a central office in Leeds and regional offices in Camberley and Motherwell. All of these departments operate under a Quality Management System accredited to ISO 9001: 2000.
