Situated close to Bury, Lancashire, Birtle Brook is a stunning retirement village from Pinnacle Living.

Set within 60 acres of countryside, Birtle Brook caters for residents over the age of 55 and provides a relaxing, carefree living environment which has a real sense of community at its heart.

Birtle Brook comprises a mix of two-bedroom cottages and apartments, each boasting solid oak doors, hand-crafted stone mullion windows and a range of stunning fixtures and fittings. Each of the cottages includes an outside patio area, with many cottages including accompanying gardens.

In addition to its collection of living spaces, Birtle Brook also includes a restaurant, The Pavilion Bar & Bistro. The restaurant serves up a British menu – including coffee, cakes and cocktails – which combines fine dining with an afternoon tea service. The Pavilion is located on the development’s west side, which is also home to the village’s members-only bowling green.

Keen to expand the offering at Birtle Brook, work is currently underway on a project designed to install additional apartments into the village’s west side. Once work is complete, Birtle Brook will include 60 cottages, alongside its four apartments, restaurant and Crown bowling green.

Work is progressing well on the expansion scheme and is currently on track for a Spring 2015 completion date. The construction of the buildings and the landscaping work has been completed and at present fit-out work is taking place. As work is taking place on the west side of the village, the installation of the new buildings has not caused any disruption to residents.

Construction specialist, RBC Rochdale Ltd is the main contractor on the project, whilst CJ Partnership is providing architectural services. RBC Rochdale Ltd delivers a wide range of building and construction works and has built up an excellent reputation within the industry, as a trusted and professional contractor. Meanwhile, set up in 1963, CJ Partnership is an award-winning practice with a wide range of projects in its portfolio, from commercial and residential schemes to industrial projects.

Commenting on the project, Director of RBC Rochdale Ltd, Darren Roscoe, said:

“We’re a small company and we’re proud to be involved with a project like this. To date, Birtle Brook is the biggest project that we have been a part of and it is great to be working on this next phase.”

Director of CJ Partnership, Paul Clark, said:

“People think Birtle Brook is outstanding and it has won a number of awards, both locally and nationally. Birtle Brook is a bit of a landmark.

“For us this is a very prestigious scheme and we have had many people reference the site when talking to us about different projects. This was the first retirement project that we were involved with and it is one of the best.”
