Waterloo Housing

Waterloo Housing Group specialises in the provision and construction of both social and affordable housing throughout the Midlands and Lincolnshire.

The group oversees more than 19,500 homes across central England and is committed to providing high quality services to all its customers.

Each year Waterloo Housing Group aims to build around 1,000 new affordable homes and with each new dwelling the group strives to improve services for both customers and communities. Waterloo Housing Group is also regionally minded, so this means the group will continue to support the communities which have helped it achieve its success.

Waterloo Housing Group’s business values are thus: openness, reliability, customer focus, respect, motivation, innovation, integrity and commerciality. The group treats everyone with dignity and respect and always goes above and beyond to help people.

Should a customer require assistance, Waterloo Housing Group will answer calls quickly (usually within 60 seconds) with an aim to resolve all matters at the first point of contact. If problems are not resolved within that initial call then Waterloo Housing Group staff members aim to call all customers back within two working days.

Should customers need to arrange an appointment with Waterloo Housing Group, staff members will organise a time which is suitable for both parties concerned. Appointments can take place at a customer’s home or at one of Waterloo Housing Group’s offices.

A spokesperson for Waterloo Housing Group, said:

“At Waterloo Housing Group, we believe that more people should have a home they need and in the place they want to be. So we are building more quality homes that people can afford, thanks to the support of our business partners including many local authorities.

“Our development programme is one of the largest of any affordable housing provider in the Midlands. We are currently investing £41 million of grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency in building 1,800 new homes throughout the region.”

A new development – created in partnership with Derbyshire Dales District Council – recently opened in Derby. The £4.2 million affordable housing development opened in December 2014 by Lord-Lieutenant for Derbyshire, William Tucker, and was named Poppy Fields Close to mark the centenary of The First World War.

At the opening of Poppy Fields Close, Lord-Lieutenant Tucker, said:

“It was a great privilege to open Poppy Fields and I wish the present and future residents every good wish. The name will act as a long-lasting remainder of the year in which it was opened.”

Poppy Fields Close comprises 34 new energy-efficient properties, with 24 homes built for rental purposes and ten part-buy/part-rent homes. The 24 rental homes include a mix of two and three bedroom houses, one and two bedroom flats and two wheelchair accessible bungalows. The shared ownership properties are a mix of two and three-bedroom dwellings.

Leader of Derbyshire Dales District Council, Cllr Lewis Rose OBE, said:

“Providing affordable housing for local people remains the District Council’s top priority, which is why in the past year we have poured £616,000 into schemes such as Poppy Fields – and we will continue to fight hard to attract additional funding to make these developments happen.”

Moving forward Waterloo Housing Group’s largest new development in Lincolnshire continues to provide housing and employment in the area. The properties on Golf Road in Mablethorpe are being constructed by developer Lindum and will comprise a total of 120 affordable homes.
