Marmalade, the Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Working in partnership with Bitters ‘n’ Twisted, the Birmingham Repertory Theatre has launched Marmalade – a new bistro and bar.

The new venue opened in February 2015 joins Bitters ‘n’ Twisted’s collection of Birmingham-based venues, which include The Jekyll and Hyde, Bodega, The Rose Villa Tavern, Island Bar and the New Inn.

The new bistro and bar overlooking Centenary Square, Birmingham features an eclectic mix of furnishings and bold décor offering a warm, charming and inviting environment. It includes a relaxed dining area serving great value, simple yet tasty food.

Marmalade’s bespoke menu offers exciting flavours and comforting classics coupled with the style and passion that only an independent operator can offer. A pre-theatre menu priced at £15.95 for two courses and £19.95 for three and bar offers a varied choice of light lunches and bar snacks and provides customers with handpicked quality wines, local ales, craft bottle beers and a range of cocktails.

Matt Scriven of Bitters ‘n’ Twisted, said:

“Marmalade is something really special and a new direction for the Bitters ‘n’ Twisted family. The team worked hard to launch something welcoming and exciting that has a different style and feel to our other venues but one that is still fuelled by our passion for great food, great drinks and great service.”

The new offering highlights The REP’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience whilst reaching a broader audience. Trina Jones, General Manager at Birmingham Repertory Theatre commented:

“Our partnership with Bitters ‘n’ Twisted heralds an exciting time for us. We’ve worked closely with Matt Scriven and his team to create a catering offer that appeals to all of our customers, whether it’s a couple wanting to sit down for a meal pre-show or professionals who want a coffee over a meeting or those simply wanting to enjoy a drink after work.

“Many of our customers want a more relaxed catering offer at the theatre that offers the choice of either a set-course menu or a light snack, so this sees us taking another step in significantly enhancing our customer experience. It was essential for us that Marmalade is seen as a place for everyone interested in good food and not only a restaurant for theatre goers.”
