Medway Mechanical have commenced work on their project at Richard Taunton college in Southampton.
This project will add value and strength to their ever growing education sector portfolio.
The project comprises of an extension to the college linking several existing areas via a court yard. The Mechanical services works include underfloor heating, plant room installation, ventilation, automatic controls linked to BMS.
Tony Pankhurst of Medway Mechanical spoke to us about the procurement & execution of the project:
“We were approached about undertaking this project due to our extensive experience in the education sector including previous projects at Milton Park Primary School, St George’s Primary School, Itchen College and the Hampshire County Council free school meal kitchen upgrades.
“This experience will be valuable due to the complex nature of this project; the internal court yard area is to be converted into a central hub for the adjacent parts of the college. This will require extensive co-ordination of existing services along with the installation of new services. One of the biggest challenges will be installing the new automatic ventilation to windows while connecting them to the existing BMS controls system.
“We have put together a tight programme for this project and look forward to delivering another quality installation, ensuring our leading position within the education sector remains intact.”
