Kedel Limited – a Lancashire based recycled plastics manufacturer and retailer – has been shortlisted for the Best Recycled Product Award due to take place at the 2015’s National Recycling Awards in the London Hilton on the 1st July 2015.

The awards are presented by Materials Recycling World, the UK’s leading publication on recycling and waste management.

Kedel specialise in extruding a synthetic or plastic wood from crushed cd cases and various other products made from virgin polystyrene. In addition to supplying a range of profiles to the construction industry, Kedel’s in-house design team have created a wide range of recycled plastic outdoor furniture using their plastic wood, including benches, picnic tables and chairs, decking for walkways, cladding, fencing and much more.

Kedel create colourful outdoor furniture for schools and nurseries, building materials such as tongue and groove boards that were used to create the colourful beach huts at Barry Island. The company’s plastic wood is durable, does not rot, fade, warp or splinter, and is graffiti proof. Better than low maintenance, it’s NO maintenance.

Reusing plastic keeps it out of landfill and incinerators reducing the human to contribution to global warming and climate change.

The National Recycling Awards give recognition to the brilliance and innovation available throughout the UK recycling sector and is judged by industry peers who understand the challenges involved.

Dermot Walch, Managing Director of Kedel LTD, said:

“It’s a fantastic honour to be shortlisted for this award. We have worked extremely hard to get to where we are today, and hope that by making beautiful and practical products, that eliminate the cost of maintenance, we can encourage more people to use recycled plastic and create a better environment for future generations.”
