Dear readers,

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Hospitality.

In this month’s issue pop across to Manchester to get the lowdown on HOME, we take a look at the new-look Duke William in Ickham, and we put some questions to Dan Menchions from II BY IV DESIGN.

HOME is Manchester’s new cultural destination for international contemporary art, theatre and film. The fantastic new facility opened in May and boasts a 450-seat theatre; a 150-seat flexible theatre; a 500m², 4m high gallery space; five cinema screens; digital production and broadcast facilities; and a café bar and restaurant.

Chief Executive of HOME, Dave Moutrey, said:

“We are a HOME for everyone, staging challenging and critically engaged art, yet connected to our city. We exist to produce outstanding art, create unforgettable experiences, develop skills, and make a genuine difference to people’s lives. Being part of HOME, whether you’re an artist, an audience member, or part of our local communities, will be something rather special.”

Meanwhile, situated on The Street in Ickham, Canterbury, the Duke William is an intimate and friendly, British pub showcasing a great menu, a fantastic selection of drinks, an always popular beer garden and of course, a healthy slice of good old fashioned hospitality. The pub recently reopened to punters after undergoing a significant refurbishment programme and is now overseen by Mark Sargeant and Josh De Haan, the team behind Rocksalt and The Smokehouse in Folkestone.

And finally, set up in January 1990 by Dan Menchions and Keith Rushbrook, II BY IV DESIGN is an award-winning design practice specialising in interior and product design works. The practice has three offices – two in Toronto and one in New York – employing a team of around 40 members of staff and has more than 300 international design awards under its belt. In this month’s issue we speak to Dan regarding the practice’s 25th anniversary and find out a little bit about the projects which have helped shape a quarter century of work for II BY IV DESIGN.

With all this and more, it’s time to sit back and tuck into another helping of Premier Hospitality.

Enjoy!

Alex
