New images released by Crossrail Limited highlight the latest fit-out activity underway in the tunnels between Royal Oak Portal and Bond Street.
To support permanent track installation in the west, a concrete shuttle is used to transport concrete from a temporary railhead at Westbourne Park. Pre-mixed fibre reinforced concrete from the batching plant is loaded onto the shuttle, delivered into the tunnels and pumped into place.
A fleet of customised machinery is supporting the fit-out of the tunnels. These works are part of Crossrail’s railway systems activity to fit-out the tunnels, stations, shafts and portals with the vital infrastructure ahead of TfL-run Elizabeth line services operating through central London from 2018.
