New Phase Construction

New Phase

Run by Directors Jason and Dave Winch, New Phase Construction is a family run building contractor with over 50 years experience of building projects of all complexities. New Phase Construction specialise in commercial and residential building projects including new builds, refurbishments, extensions, fit outs, insurance work and maintenance.

Speaking to Premier Construction: Channel Islands Focus magazine, Director Jason Winch said: “We specialise in everything really from small extensions to brand new builds and work with anything. We are a broad building company. It is not a specialist trade but we do everything.”

The professional team at New Phase Construction include skilled craftsmen and specialist sub contractors, ensuring high quality results for every client. Clients can expect and will receive an expert service and high standard of workmanship. Client satisfaction is paramount and New Phase Construction has excellent relationships with their clients.

The company have recently been responsible for transforming two properties in Guernsey – Orlenda Cottage and Oakleigh Villa. Whilst New Phase Construction acted as the main contractors, Aslette Architects and M D Nicolle Partners have acted as architects on each project.

Work at Orlenda Cottage has seen the old cottage transformed using the original external walls.

Jason said: “This project started off as just a new roof but ended up with everything being knocked down, expect the external walls, so it is basically a brand new build but with the four original walls in tact. It has been a good project and it has been easy, but it has had its challenges.”

The cottage has been transformed to include an extension on the side, greenhouse on the front, conservatory on the back and brand new bathrooms throughout.

With about a month left to go before it is complete, Jason believes that Orlenda Cottage will now be a stand out feature for the area.

He said: “The whole project is a stand out feature because it is a complete transformation. There is no single outstanding feature because the whole thing will be outstanding.”

Over at Oakleigh Villa, a slightly longer project, the team have refurbished the house to include a side extension. The house refurbishment is complete, with just the bathroom left to finish and the extension roof being put in place.

“With Oakleigh Villa, the side extension will stand out and look different to the house,” said Jason.

At New Phase Construction the company pride themselves on their innovation as well as providing solutions to client’s problems. The dedicated team has the flexibility and expertise to undertake all projects and problems, including minor repairs and maintenance to major refurbishments, new build projects, loft conversions and major construction works.

Jason commented: “Orlenda Cottage and Oakleigh Villa have been great projects. We have been using the same sub contractors and everyone knows each other so when you have that, if there are any problems then they just give us a call and it is as simple as that.

“The projects are important to us because it means that our name is all over it. When the project is completed on time and to a high specification, it gives us a good name and puts us forward for other projects, possibly in the future.”
