GGP Consult Invest £1.3 Million in New Premises
GGP Consult have recently moved into a brand new, high tech, open plan office on Hallam Road, Henry Boot Way, Priory Park East, Hull.
The purpose built, two storey 9,000 sq ft, air conditioned office space, which has been built with parking under, signifies a new chapter for the ever expanding, multi-disciplinary consultants.
Jennifer Baskill, Business Development Manager at GGP Consult said: “Having expanded from around 25 to nearly 70 people in recent years we needed a space that was purpose built for us and the amount of technology that we use. We needed something that was future proof so that we would be able to use interactive whiteboards and web based conference suites – we needed that sort of technology and with our own building, we can provide it.”
GGP Consult is a privately owned Consulting Engineering Company based in Hull. The company has grown steadily since its formation in 1994 and provides considerable resources with a wide range of expertise including Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture and Project Management. Over the past 22 years, the company has expanded to a team of around 70 employees and are still actively recruiting. The new office is adjacent to the A63 so is convenient for employees from both sides of the Humber and as far away as York and Selby.
GGP Consult invested approximately £1.3 million into the construction of the new building, which was worked on by main contractor Hall Construction. Work on the project started in September 2015 and was completed in April 2016.
The first floor of the building holds the majority of the Civil, Structural and Mechanical Engineers and CAD Technicians who use the most up to date 3D modelling software including CAD, Revit, 3D Civils, BIM and SolidWorks. The first floor is also home to the Architecture and 3D Laser Scanning Department who are currently working on large projects for clients within the Power, Industrial and Commercial sectors to name a few.
The new site features a large reception and web based conference suites to the front of the second floor. The second floor also plays host to the ever growing Rail Team who are employed by Tier 1 suppliers to Network Rail. The GGP Rail Team work on a multitude of rail projects from conception to completion.
The new office also provides amazing views of The Humber Bridge as well as the local business park and surrounding area.
2016-2017 holds exciting times for GGP Consult with an ever-increasing staff force and more involvement in key projects in the local area including the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, which is due to start imminently and the proposed Hull Integrated Care Centre, which will be located on the former David Lister School site.
Jennifer concluded: “The new building signifies great things in the future for GGP Consult. It shows our clients that we are at the forefront of the industry whilst giving our staff a great place to work.”
