Scotts

One of Scotland’s largest hospitality groups, Buzzworks Holdings, has unveiled its new look flagship restaurant – Scotts at Troon Yacht Haven.

The much loved marina restaurant has received a £500,000 makeover, bringing a fresh, modern take on relaxed dining to the Ayrshire coast. The venue’s interior has been transformed, with an enrichening palette of light tones and woods throughout to complement the stunning marina views and provide the perfect setting to enjoy Scotts delicious dishes and tempting wine list.

A new state-of-the-art kitchen has also been installed within the venue, allowing Scotts talented chefs to create a stylish new menu, celebrating Scotland’s produce and using the freshest ingredients available. Work on site was carried out over a 10 day period at the beginning of March 2017 with Glasgow-based 3 Design Scotland Ltd responsible for creating the new look interior.

The intention was to advance the Scotts brand for Buzzworks to another level, commensurate with top big city international venue interiors but also ensuring you get a warm welcome into the venue. 3 Design Scotland used various design elements to enhance a feeling of walking into a Mediterranean harbour side restaurant. High end furniture from Kettal and designer restaurant furniture from Ultimate and CCP Contract Furniture has been combined with on trend lighting from Shoore lighting. In addition, 3 Design Scotland chose beautiful fabrics to compliment the design from manufacturers including Osborne & Little, Ian Sanderson and Misia Casamance.

Hard surfaces include an interesting new product from Porcelanosa X Light that clads the bar front in the restaurant. Bespoke cladding can be found throughout including brass sheet to the fish tank wall and custom made timber cladding to the bar areas.

Suzy Kingswood, of 3 Design Scotland, commented:

“As always it’s a pleasure to work with clients who like to push the design to the limit, altering things on site to add details that are as up to date as possible but maintaining the appeal in the interiors that we would like to think will stand the test of time.”

Regulars will be delighted that old favourites have remained; whilst guests keen to try the best of Ayrshire’s locally landed seafood can now enjoy lobster, langoustines, king prawns and a whole host of other delicious delights available. The new menu also features a speciality seafood plater, perfect for sharing during the summer months.

As proud members of the Scotch Beef Club, diners will be well catered for with the inclusion of a new Tomahawk and Club steak and for those looking for healthy options, Scotts menu has a number of new salad options to tantalise the taste buds.

The drinks list has also received special attention from Scotts in-house mixologists, with a new range of cocktails having been added and a carefully curated wine list focusing on current trends and old favourites available to enjoy.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks Holdings MD, said:

“Scotts has always been ahead of the times, so the new look, which has a lighter, more modern feel, but retains many of the iconic features that make Scotts so special, will set us up for many years to come.

“By investing in a new state-of-the-art kitchen, our chefs can continue to create mouth-watering dishes using the best ingredients Scotland has to offer, whilst changes to our restraint interior mean that guests can enjoy a fantastic dining experience in a setting befitting our spectacular harbour location.

“Scotts at Troon Yacht Haven has built up a fantastic reputation as the place to be for relaxed, enjoyable and delicious all day dining and drinking, so we are excited to welcome customers to the new look venue.”
