Following recent company growth and a number of project wins, maber architects has announced two key promotions and 10 new appointments across its five UK offices (Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham & London).

maber is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Basran to Director. Steve, who joined maber in November 2003, has been instrumental in establishing the practice’s Derby office and expanding its remit through winning and delivering innovative projects. During his time with the practice he has designed a number of significant buildings, strengthened the company’s portfolio of education projects and helped grow the client base.

Ben Slipper has also been promoted to Associate in the Leicester office, having joined maber in January 2012. His key responsibility is to ensure delivery of technical solutions that control design integrity on major projects. He has also been instrumental in building strong relationships with a number of key clients including contractors, local authorities and education providers.

In addition, the practice has appointed a number of new architects, landscape architects and technologists, alongside new RIBA Part II graduates to strengthen its design and technical teams across all levels and disciplines.

Mark Hobson, Managing Director at maber, comments: “Having formulated the practice’s business plan through to 2025, it is exciting to see the incremental development of the practice which is very much based on a growing client base and an increase in the scale and volume of projects across our five UK offices. In turn, we are pleased to be able to recruit additional high calibre staff, with cross sector expertise, as this will ensure we continue to provide a first class service to our clients.

“Looking ahead, the goal is to extend our offer beyond conventional architecture and interior design to a more holistic asset based design service offer. The intention is to work with clients to maximise the value of their estate whether that involves master planning, landscape solutions, the design of new buildings or interior fit-out and refurbishment of existing stock.”

In response to recent project wins in London, maber has secured a new, larger office space in Spitalfields to increase its presence and ensure capacity for future expansion.

Established in 1983, the practice has grown organically and now employs 65 staff with its HQ in Nottingham and additional offices in Birmingham, London, Leicester and Derby.
