At Six

Stockholm’s new lifestyle hotel, At Six, is primed to bring art and culture back to an area of the city overwhelmed by modernity. Brunkebergstorg Square was once a haven for socialites and intellectuals with grand hotels, private residences, restaurants and elegant shops.

Opened in March 2017, At Six is one of a number of new ventures to open in the Square’s vicinity aimed at revitalising and refreshing the area. Boasting 343 immaculately-designed rooms and suites, At Six is a contemporary art hotel continuing the Swedish tradition for elegant design aesthetics, craftsmanship and comfort. The hotel also has 5 restaurants, bars and lounges, a gym and 2000 square metres of event and meeting space.

The interior of At Six has been created in collaboration with award-winning London-based architects Universal Design Studio. Furniture, materials and lighting is a careful edit of classic reinvented design, salvaged pieces and bold new commissions.

The hotel presents a unique collection of artworks and design items including carefully selected contemporary and classic pieces. Much of the artwork for the public spaces and guest rooms has been commissioned by the hotel’s art curator Sune Nordgren. The signature piece is ‘Mar Whispering’, a 2.5 metre high marble head placed in the middle of the grand lobby staircase by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa. Other acclaimed artists with work in the hotel include Olafur Eliasson, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long, Tacita Dean and Julian Opie.

At Six guest rooms are stylish and spacious with luxurious bathrooms. All have been carefully curated to create a sense of exclusivity in each. Beds are sumptuously soft with crisp linens while a generous marble writing desk adds a level of sophistication. Amenities include organic toiletries, a connected TV, a sound system on demand and free high-speed Wi-Fi.

The top guest experience comes in the form of the Masterpiece Suite. A one-of-a-kind studio featuring a lavish living room, a kitchenette and a unique freestanding bath tub. Located at the very top of the building, the suite’s private rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

All food and drink tastes are catered for across the 5 restaurants, bars and lounges. The Dining Room is the premier offering with a vibrant dining experience. Found in the heart of the hotel, diners can sample contemporary international and seasonal cuisine inspired by all parts of the world. Executive Chef Andreas Askling has used his global travelling background to cultivate a menu of delectable dishes.

Finding its inspiration a little closer to home, Blanche & Hierta is a wine bar, coffee house and deli all rolled into one. Shaped by the rich history of Brunkebergstorg, Blanche & Hierta is a casual and vibrant place with high quality wine and locally sourced food. Open from early morning till late at night, it is equally ideal for a coffee before work or drinks with friends after.

Similarly the Cocktail Bar is a casual destination with signature drinks fusing classics with a modern twist.

At the time of opening, At Six Managing Director, Jennie Hahmann HĂ„kanson, said:

“At Six is more than an exclusive hotel and is larger than its dimensions. Our ambition is to give Stockholm something totally new; an experience that is both art, design and service of the highest level.”

Operated by Petter Stordalen’s Nordic Hotels & Resorts, At Six is part of a programme that is transforming urban Stockholm into a cultural hub for the city. For more information please visit hotelatsix.com.
