Myconian Kyma – A five star luxury hotel for genuine jet-setters

Centered within a hamlet of whitewashed hotel properties on Mykonos and overlooking the legendary Myconian Hill, the Myconian Kyma is a five star luxury hotel that boasts panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and offers guests ultimate pleasure in each and every moment.

Located a short drive or 20 minute walk from Mykonos Town, Myconian Kyma, is set right between the straight lines and curves of the surrounding architecture. Neither seemingly trendy nor traditionally ordinary, Myconian Kyma offers guests 81 striking rooms, half of which are suites with their own private pools overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Opened on 1 May 2017, the hotel is on a hillside overlooking the traditional windmills of Mykonos as well as the fishing boats of the island’s inhabitants. The site has an overflow pool and has a glimpse of the glamor of the 60’s.

Work on the Myconian Kyma, which is the Greek word for ‘wave,’ was undertaken by Galal Mahmoud and Randa Chahine of GM Architects of Lebanon and Etienne Moyat. GM Architects have used curved lines throughout with white marble dominating the design. The main lobby and dining spaces have been brightened with simple pops of pastel colour features on furniture and bespoke pieces of ceramics and art. The hotel is crafted to blend harmoniously into its timeless environment, and subtly and sublimely embraces guests in wellness and tranquillity with such telling architectural flourishes such as sun-dappled terraces and endless sea views.

The rooms and suites range from the 26-square-meter Apollo room to the 40-square-meter Junior Suite and Mediterranean Junior Suite – Junior Suites come with a sea view and have a cosy couch and small balcony. All guestrooms feature a king-sized bed or twin beds, which are described as ‘soft and comfortable’ and are topped with Matt Royale hand crafted mattresses. Standard room bathrooms have a separate waterfall shower.

Dining at Myconian Kyma is described as a “memorable experience” whether it is breakfast by the pool, a refreshingly light meal or a three course dinner inspired by classical Mediterranean cuisine.

One of the most heart-warming sights of this luxury hotel is the endless breakfast buffet with a delicious variety of tastes including organic eggs, bread, pastries, homemade marmalades, cereals, fresh juices and smoothies and fruits and vegetables from the sites own farm.

Kalypso Fine Dining offers rich flavours and the distinctive aromas of Mediterranean haute cuisine, blending with the finest raw materials produced locally and exclusively for Kyma. After being carefully selected by the chef, an imaginative journey begins to create only the freshest dishes with a twist; mingling tradition with contemporary food and innovative cuisine. At Kalypso, Mediterranean heritage is open to new ideas and challengers culinary creativity in a most elegant and comfortable ambiance.

Finally, George’s bar is the place-to-be at Myconian Kyma, if you like a lively vibe but with an elegant flair. George’s Bar has it all; coffee is exquisite from the traditional Greek to latte macchiato and the refreshing cappuccino freddo; juices and refreshments seem cooler than ever; specialty cocktails rock and the shareable platters from the menu are simply irresistible.

Thanks to a paradise location and the sense of well-living that pervades the whole island, guests can easily feel refreshed by walking into the lobby of the Spa at the Myconian Kyma. Guests can enjoy a traditional massage or experience the latest therapies, according to their needs, wrapped up with exceptional service, performed only by experts. This all comes with the benefit of five therapeutic pools and an invigorating sauna to balance mind, body and soul.
