Fisher’s Hotel – Bouncing back

The Fisher’s Hotel is set to finish this year stronger than ever after undergoing a multi-million pound renovation. A fire on New Year’s Day 2017 caused significant damage and forced the hotel in Pitlochry to close for a week.

Rather than dwell on the fire though, it proved to be the catalyst for the renovation programme that is currently underway. When completed, the refurbishment will see the creation of 30 new rooms to make a total of 140 including new special occasion rooms. A new 150-cover restaurant is also included within the work and was unveiled to the public at the beginning of September.

With a rich history that can be traced back to 1830, the hotel has welcomed a number of esteemed guests in the time since and the new look will include many of the original features including period fireplaces being re-instated.

Work on the renovation is expected to be completed by the end of the year and the hotel has remained open while it has been carried out. Having long played a significant role in the local community and tourist industry, much of the work is being carried out by local tradesmen.

Rooms at Fisher’s are warm and inviting with vibrant colour schemes that create a warm inviting space. A wide selection of accommodation also means Fisher’s is able to cater to a variety of needs. The newly developed special occasion rooms boast additional space with a large plush King size bed. Amenities include fluffy bathrobes and slippers, a complimentary bottle of wine and superior toiletries.

The food and drink offering is similarly varied and available throughout the day. The new 150-cover restaurant, known as ‘New Castle’ is set to be a landmark destination for the town with a bold design that reflects the surrounding landscape. The Coach House is the hotel’s public bar with a recently developed pavement café serving all day food and drink.
