A new opening – R G Carter opens new engineering facility in East Anglia

R G Carter, the region’s leading construction company, has officially opened its new engineering facility in Attleborough.

The business has invested £14 million bringing together its ground investigation, design, piling and civil engineering teams on one site, to provide an enhanced service for current and potential clients.

Chairman Mr Robert Carter, officially opened the new facility and said:

“This is an exciting time for us. Bringing our engineering companies together at this purpose-built facility will enable them to work more closely together to improve our services to our clients. Our UKAS accredited laboratory is one of the best equipped facilities in East Anglia and provides a great foundation for our soils and material testing capabilities.

“We will provide the local community with extra jobs and engage with local schools by offering tours of the site.”

Alongside the new office space, the site includes a workshop for piling rig and auger maintenance, and a fully equipped soils and concrete testing laboratory.

Jon Wright, Plant Manager, is delighted with the facilities the new site has to offer both employees and customers, he said:

“We are very excited about our new home at this exceptional facility. Moving to a much larger site which has all the necessary equipment in one place allows us to not only deliver the best results, but also work more efficiently with each other.”

Demonstrations took place throughout the day of the opening ceremony, showcasing the equipment based at the facility including 3D printing capability, ground investigation drilling, foundation pile auguring, plant maintenance, welding and a series of soil and concrete testing demonstrations.
