Strand Palace Hotel

London’s Strand Palace Hotel has revealed the first of its newly refurbished guest rooms which bring back a touch of the art deco stylings that the hotel was most renowned for but with a contemporary twist.

The hotels new rooms have been designed by Trevillion Interiors and are kitted out with air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, White Company toiletries and a laptop safe as standard. Rooms have been decorated in a neutral palette.

Speaking to Premier Hospitality Magazine about the project, Frances Blackham, Design Director at Trevillion Interiors said: “The arrangement of the rooms was quite challenging. The hotel has 785 bedrooms, 300 of which are single so we needed to design something that was compact and delivered the prestige of their four star London hotel and met with the expectations of those staying at the Strand. We had to be clever in terms of the design so we took furniture off the floor to reveal as much floor space as possible; the furniture is quite smart with a feel of the 1930s about it and we used reflective surfaces, mirrors, lighting and a calm colour palette to make the best use as possible of the spaces.”

Deluxe rooms offer a touch of luxury in the heart of London. With air conditioning, Hypnos beds, complimentary minibar and dry bar, a Nespresso machine and generously sized luxury White Company toiletries, there is a lot to like about the newly refurbished rooms. Guests are also treated to a world of entertainment at their fingertips with a 46 inch HD television and Bose SoundTouch 20 Wireless speaker system. The rooms are perfectly sized for young families with Deluxe Studio rooms offering more space for your stay in the heart of London.

Superior rooms offer plenty of comfort and provide a welcoming and relaxing stay. They feature all of the modern-day essentials, including a HD television, complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, laptop safe and White Company toiletries in the en suite shower rooms. Guests can choose from a wide range of superior rooms, ranging from Superior Cosy Singles through to Superior King Sized rooms.

The initial release of guest rooms across the ninth floor are the precursor to the future unveiling, with the eighth floor set to re-open in June and the 7th floor in September.

Frances added: “The rooms have been received very successfully and people really like them.”

The hotel’s ground floor will also undergo renovation and will include renovation of the reception area, concierge, restaurant and bars.

“This project is very important to us” said Frances. “Working on projects in Central London is always challenging in terms of keeping our design approach fresh, progressive and ahead of trend. Working with the team at London & Regional is exciting and most enjoyable.”

The full project is set to be completed by April 2020.
