Rail Live 2018
Designed to bring the rail industry together under one roof, Rail Live is an annual event showcasing all of the latest insights within the rail sector. The event runs between the 20th and 21st June at the Quinton Rail Technology Centre in Warwickshire and boasts a range of features, including demonstrations, displays and exhibits, as well as The National Rail Convention and Rail Live’s famous Signalling Zone.
New Rolling Stock will be on display at Rail Live 2018, including a battery version of The D Train, as well as the Class 769 Flex – Porterbrook. Meanwhile, off track features include demonstrations from the British Transport Police, the Network Rail Air Operations team and the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB).
Exhibitors this year include the likes of ABB, Cubis, HS2, McCulloch Rail, Panasonic Business, RUAS, Siemens and Worlifts, amongst others. Sponsors include Balfour Beatty, Shannon Rail, Porterbrook, SPL & CPL Powerlines, A-Plant Rail and Eversholt.
Rail Live 2018 Features

Known as the largest outdoor rail exhibition in Europe with nearly 400 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors each year, Rail Live 2018 opens at 9:30am on Wednesday 20th June and closes at 4:30pm. On Thursday 21st June the event runs from 9:30am until 4pm.
To gain access to the site, all visitors and exhibitors must wear the minimum of an upper body hi-vis PPE garment to railway or highway standards. Safety boots/shoes are not mandatory, but visitors and exhibitors are reminded that due to the nature of the show it is highly recommended that safety shoes/boots or a minimum of stout shoes/boots are worn.

Quinton Rail Technology Centre
Quinton Rail Technology Centre is one of the UK’s approved Test & Trials facilities. It has a long history dating back to its years as a Royal Engineers supply base in the Second World War. Decommissioned by the Ministry of Defence in the late 1990’s, it then became a privately owned site.
The site is the largest and most extensive rail storage facility in the UK. It consist of some 20km of storage sidings and is connected to the national rail network at Honeybourne on the Worcester to London line – served by all the Freight Operating Companies, taking advantage of 24/7 access. There is storage capacity for approximately 100 items of rolling stock and it also has 4ha of open hard-standing based storage and approximately 2000m² of covered workshops along with associated handling equipment and carnage. QRTC is constantly looking to invest in new facilities and equipment to meet its make customers’ needs.
National Rail Convention
Taking place over the two days of Rail Live, The National Rail Convention (previously The National Rail Conference) will bring together the best content presented by the best speakers in the country. Each session is designed to provide relevant and practical knowledge that will make a difference to businesses. Speakers at the convention will include Councillor Roger Lawrence, Leader of the City of Wolverhampton Council and Wolverhampton Labour Group, Sir Peter Hendy, Chairman of Network Rail, Chris Grayling, Secretary of State for Transport and Laura Shoaf, Managing Director of Transport for West Midlands.
The Rail Live 2018 Dinner – Network Rail Plant Awards in Support of Railway Children.
Taking place on 20th June 2018 at 7pm, an exclusive evening of networking and fun will take place at Rail Live in the shape of the 2018 Network Plant Awards Dinner, in support of the charity, Railway Children. Held at Stratford Manor Hotel, with guest speaker Will Greenwood (former English Rugby Union player), the evening will celebrate and recognise the success and achievements of outstanding companies in the rail plant supply chain, who have demonstrated excellence in the delivery of products and serviced to the industry and will also act as important fundraiser for the Railway Children. All proceeds from the evening are going to the events nominated charity.
Since the awards were launched four years ago, the Network Rail Plant Awards at Rail Live have gained significant momentum and is now a major highlight of the event. Far from being just another award, it offers suppliers and individuals with a prime opportunity to be truly recognised against real and measured attributed of excellence.
Tickets for the event are £60 per person.
Case Communications
Case Communications specialise in industrial communication products, designed to work reliably in harsh conditions without the use of fans. As a mainstream supplier of communications networks, the origins of Case Communications can be traced back to the 1970s. In 2000 the company split and Case Communications became a specialist division for industrial networking.
Typical products include Industrial Ethernet Switches, Routers, Media Converters etc. and a Network Management System called ‘CaseView’, which controls and manages the network and allows network managers to instantly see or be informed about events taking place in the network.
CaseView has a database allowing all events to be stored and also allowing information collected from the network to generate trend reports. CaseView, along with a number of other products, will be showcased by the company at Rail Live.
Case Communications has worked on a number of prestigious projects, including the Channel Tunnel, London Underground, Thales, and Networks Rail’s FTN network. In the 1980s the company built a network alongside the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia.
