Combining British heritage with European grandeur, The Wolseley is one of London’s most respected café-restaurants. Renowned for its spectacular interior, immaculately presented classic European food and seamless service, The Wolseley has now expanded with a smaller sister venue.
Located at global luxury shopping destination Bicester Village, Café Wolseley is the first opening outside London for hospitality group Corbin & King. Boasting the spectacular interiors, impressive culinary offering and meticulous service that The Wolseley is renowned for, the new Café Wolseley opened at the end of June 2018.
Those familiar with the celebrated Piccadilly institution will therefore recognise in Café Wolseley signature features from the London flagship restaurant. The design – including the smart black-and-white chevron floor, hand-painted Chinoiserie murals and double-volume vaulted ceiling – has been led by Shayne Brady of BradyWilliams. WFC was the main contractor on the project.
The concept of all-day café dining in the European style also remains true at Bicester Village, with the restaurant open from 8.30 am to 10.00 pm most days. The restaurant has a capacity of up to 183 covers with a further 74 covers located externally.
The menu features classic Wolseley favourites from homemade Patisseries to Eggs Benedict, Wiener Schnitzel and Coq au Vin – together with new additions, such as Tarte Flambée and seasonal salads. Alongside the café-restaurant, a takeaway counter offers the option of enjoying Café Wolseley cuisine on the go. So whether guests wish to ponder their purchases over a leisurely lunch or instead grab a gourmet sandwich and keep shopping, Café Wolseley caters to all needs. The kitchen is led by Head Chef Lee Ward, ably assisted by Head Pastry Chef Natasha Rhodes.

Taking its lead from The Wolseley, visitors to Café Wolseley can be assured of a high quality and distinctive experience. The history of The Wolseley can be traced back to the first half of the 20th century, when the Grade II listed building it occupies was created. The building was designed by English architect William Curtis Green, upon a commission by Wolseley Motors in 1921 to design their prestigious car showroom. In July 2003, it was acquired by restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King and a sympathetic restoration and renovation process was undertaken. The Wolseley has since has won numerous awards and accolades over the years.
Café Wolseley is the eighth restaurant under the Corbin & King umbrella. Corbin & King is run by the restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, who have been partners in business for over 35 years. Together, the pair have created some of the most iconic and highly-regarded establishments in London. Noble Russell produces bespoke furniture for Cafe Wolseley, Bicester
Café Wolseley, a little sister to the illustrious ‘The Wolseley’, opened in June at high-end retail destination Bicester Village and Noble Russell produced all the bespoke banquettes and tables.
Designed by Shayne Williams of BradyWilliams, for acclaimed restaurateurs Corbin and King, this has been a fantastic project for Noble Russell to have been involved in. Cafe Wolseley continues Noble Russell’s ongoing association with Corbin & King having previously worked on the original The Wolseley, Fischer’s, Cafe Colbert and Brasserie Zedel.
Shayne Brady, a specialist in luxury design, has designed the stylish new café with a heavy influence from its iconic original. It is surely set to be an excellent addition to Corbin & King’s list of established London restaurants.
Noble Russell developed and manufactured over one hundred and forty metres of bespoke banquette seating upholstered in black leather. The stylish seating frames have been stained and lacquered black with a gloss finish and feature distinctive antiqued brass sabats on the front legs.
Seventy bespoke tables were also commissioned and have each been hand-crafted with a solid beech lipping stained and lacquered black with Jerusalem Crema beige stone inserts.
The completed furniture was delivered and installed by Noble Russell’s expert team in time for the grand opening in June.

The banquettes and tables were instrumental in creating this look that was inspired by the original 1920’s interior of the site in London.”
