The Independent Hotel Show 2018

Returning for its seventh year, the Independent Hotel Show, presented by James Hallam Insurance Brokers, will take place on 16 and 17 October at Olympia London. Carefully curated and intimate, the Show is loved for its sharp focus on one area of hospitality – the independent luxury boutique hotel sector. It’s simply the best show in town, bursting with content and designed to help you increase revenue.

Meet up to three hundred premium suppliers exhibiting products from across the industry, including interiors, tech, wellbeing, food and beverage, amenities, marketing, finance and more – all guaranteed to trigger ideas and generate conversation.

What next? With design and innovation at its core, the Independent Hotel Show will this year reveal ‘The Hotel Room of the Future’, in partnership with Two’s Company Interior Design. A sequel to 2017’s ‘Perfect Hotel Bedroom’ installation, ‘The Hotel Room of the Future’ will be designed alongside a dedicated report to incorporate technology and products that could become a reality in the next decade.

Making visionary insight a priority this year, #IHS18 is introducing IHTech Quest, designed to provide you with guidance on the latest market-leading technology and solutions to improving the guest experience. IHTech Quest will be powered by NewBook, innovative hotel management software providers who are tapped into what Gen-Y have grown up to expect. Other IHTech Quest partners from the sphere of hospitality technology include Hotelhero, Avvio, Vivid, Criton Apps, Core Optimisation, eviivo, hotel time and Panasonic Business.

Another new feature for this year is The Meeting Space, designed by Galapagos. For meetings (obviously) but also where facilitated ‘speed networking’ events will take place, with complimentary drinks. These will be held throughout the show to help you engage with industry peers and build relationships. There will be specific sessions for groups, such as young hoteliers and women entrepreneurs, plus targeted workshops for areas such as finance and regional businesses. Expert schmoozers are more than welcome to join the conversation!

From tech to tea. Often the first and last touchpoint you have with your guests, it is vital that the tea experience makes and leaves a lasting impression. Tea is on the same trajectory that coffee has travelled on in the past decade, with consumers demanding better quality teas that have been ethically sourced. Quench your thirst and satiate your appetite to know more at the new National Tea Day Pavilion, where tea and food pairings, tea on social media, serving suggestions and tea cocktail making are there to be savoured.

Other key spaces for networking and seminars at the Show have been designed by amazing partners, providing a panorama of creative furnishings and innovative visuals. Go to a place ‘somewhere between imagination and reality’ in The Lobby, powered by Criton and designed by Cappellini, and network or make new contacts.

In The Suite, a haven of calm for VIP hoteliers, speakers, Show partners and their guests, see furnishings and interiors featuring bold colours, luxe finishes and eccentric prints thanks to partner Valdivian.

Over on the Innovation Stage, in partnership with eviivo, you’ll find tropical murals and clever colour palettes designed by Elli Pop. Against this kaleidoscopic backdrop, listen to sessions that will help you win on the web and take a creative look at F&B. Feeling ‘experience fatigue’ from PR and marketing consultants? Hear refreshing opinions about what ‘experience’ really means to today’s consumer. And make your social media more meaningful with a session about digital capitalization.

Find tactile velvets and metallic accents designed by sofa.com at The Business Theatre, in partnership with Sky. Hear experts speak on how to play the reservation game to get the most out of your booking technology and how to embrace ‘place making’ and give your hotel personality and purpose. Or glean top tips on destination marketing, local partnerships and holding your own events and the latest wellness trends.

To showcase excellence from across the independent, boutique and luxury hotel market, the Independent Hotel Show Awards, in association with Sky, return to the Show again.
