Grey Castle Manor

The site team behind an exclusive development of 9 stunning homes in Northern Ireland has received industry recognition thanks to an NHBC Pride in the Job Award for site manager Mark Clifford.

Grey Castle Manor is a contemporary collection of spacious detached homes in East Belfast. The development is nearing completion and will offer residents a unique opportunity to enjoy luxury living in a highly desirable location.

Each of the 9, four-bedroom houses has been carefully designed to blend functionality with aesthetics. Boasting high quality fixtures, fittings and finishes, the homes have a large internal floor space that will help facilitate flexible living. Kitchens have been designed by A Hollywood Design, bathrooms by Sykes Bathrooms and fireplaces from Mourne Fires.

One of the biggest challenges on the project was installing a large diameter pipe drainage system to cope with any excess rainwater. The small size of the site made this task particularly tricky.

This was the first time Mark has won an NHBC Award and it hopefully won’t be the last. He has been involved I the construction on and off since the age of 16 but has worked permanently for the last 5½ years. Commenting on what he thinks makes the site standout, he said:

“It had been well designed with aesthetically pleasing houses. The building materials were also to a very high standard, for example the Kingspan Century timber frames and the insulated floor slabs cut down on problems during the build process and create a very well insulated, solid house.

“Everyone on site was very pleased; as it helps their portfolio of sites which they have completed to this high standard.”

Grey Castle Manor is located less than 5 miles south east of Belfast city centre. The development also has easy access to a number of shops, as well as a varied selection of restaurants and bars.
