EquipHotel 2018

For over 50 years EquipHotel Paris has been a landmark event for the hospitality industry, providing unique technical solutions and opportunities to accelerate business growth in the industry. EquipHotel takes place from 11-15th November 2018, at the exhibition space at Porte de Versailles, Paris.

With more than 105,000 professionals, 1600 exhibitors and 133 countries represented, it has become an important playground for developing the latest innovations in the hotel and restaurant sector. During its history, EquipHotel has evolved from a generalist trade show into a multi-specialist event that provides visitors with an inspirational and interactive experience.

This year’s edition of the show will exclusively showcase multiple trends based around 5 main sectors – catering, design, well-being, technology and services. From furniture and interiors, kitchen equipment and food products, to spas, bathrooms and technology innovations, visitors will have access to a 360° product range. With over 1,600 French and international exhibitors on show, EquipHotel provides solutions to develop business, build customer loyalty and meet the needs of markets both in France and abroad.

To help provide visitors with the best possible experience and enable them to make the most of the show, EquipHotel 2018 with feature a brand new floor layout. Alongside the creation of a Design Hub and a strengthened Catering Hub is the enhanced STUDIO18. Set up on a new, supersized scale, STUDIO18 is designed to be inspirational and inclusive, where the visitor-spectator becomes an actor; living an exclusive experience by interacting with the setting presented.

Other brand-new exclusive highlights include Casa de Luz, a motionless journey imagined by Sandrine Alouf & Thierry Virvaire; the Signature Space, with its dreamlike set design signed by Alnoor & Eric Lentulo of Etendart Studio; the Wellness Centre and its spellbinding design by Didier Knoll & Elodie Goddard; the Cozy Lazy and it’s rule-breaking room designed by Fabrice Knoll and also the Interior Design Centre a real, interactive marketplace.

For its second edition, STUDIO18 is still at the cutting edge of trends and innovation. The exhibition consists of a temporary hotel covering 3,000 sqm (32,300 sq ft) and spanning all three floors of Hall 7, featuring spectacular designs, each associated with the specific business sector it illustrates.

The first floor will feature Jean-Philippe Nuel’s vision of a hotel room. From hyper-personalisation to service, it will underline the importance of in-room service. On the second floor, interior architect duo Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet continue their research into food service areas with Le Resto des Chefs, Le Bar and Le Club VIP/Presse. Professionals from the gastronomy, bar and snacking industries will find new concepts paired with interior layouts facilitating novel lifestyle experiences.

On the third floor is the Digital Rooftop, designed by Julie Gauthron, Benjamin Deshoulières and Christophe Gautrand. Digital Rooftops are fast becoming hugely popular at hotels.

The Design Hub

A new look Design Hub at EquipHotel 2018 will provide a comprehensive interior offering. Thanks to the partnership with the furnishing trade union L’Ameublement Français, EquipHotel is in a capacity to bring together all professionals from the interior and furnishing industry.

At the heart of the Design Hub will be the Interior Design Centre. It will be staffed by professionals from L’Ameublement Français and designed by the French Council of Interior Architects (CFAI).

This area will include a bookshop/café, and offer coat check services and Wi-Fi. It will host a “Coups de Coeur” exhibition, featuring products and services short-listed beforehand, which will then become eligible to receive the Contract Prize awarded by L’Ameublement Français. Editors and industry professionals will be invited to vote for the best interior project in three categories – furniture brand, architect, hotel owner – and all three winning projects will be showcased at the Centre for the entire duration of the event. The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday 14 November.

Other highlights include L’espace Signature, a selection of specialised textiles, floor coverings and curtains; The Senses Room, featuring artwork by street artist Jérôme Mesnager; and Meet My Project, an area that highlights fifteen young and talented international product designers.

The Catering Hub

The Catering Hub combines gastronomy (Le Restaurant des Chefs), as well as the snacking and bar industries. Offering quality-oriented experiences and a wealth of inspirations, the areas are designed by expert interior architect duo Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet to provide a setting where professionals can meet and exchange ideas.

One of the standouts of the Catering Hub will be L’Espace T by Transgourmet. Every two years, Transgourmet brings together more than 90 exhibitors and 250 brands, who share the same high standards, the same appreciation of good quality products and excellence. L’Espace T offers a stage for chefs, experts, inspirational personalities, established names and new talents revealed by EquipHotel.

Meanwhile, everyday a different Michelin-starred chef will concoct and cook their own gastronomic menu at Le Resto des Chefs. Students from the École Ferrandi will join the chef in the kitchens and serve the guests. Every day, a different sommelier will also share his expertise in wine and food pairings.

The Well-Being Hub

The Well-Being Hub celebrates personal hygiene by combining the bathroom, spa, laundry and textile sectors. It will contain two main features – The Wellness Centre and The Ergo Room.

The Wellness Centre will present an entire spa offering in a dedicated location and feature a variety of events: shows, conferences, cocktail parties and start-ups. Isabelle Charrier, Founder and Editorial Director of Sense of Wellness magazine and partner of the Centre, will lead the programme of conferences.

While the 2016 edition explored the hotel business and more specifically hotel room designs, this year the Ergo Room expands its views to the restaurant business. Developed in partnership with Paris’ regional health insurance fund CRAMIF, and with the support of the French Ministry of Labour, the exhibition is still promoting a vision of work that incorporates human values. The first goal is to highlight the impact of prevention and to offer solutions (innovative products) to improve work conditions and efficiency in the sector.

The Technology Hub

Innovations presented at the Technology Hub are at the core of what drives the deeply service-oriented tourism industry. Whether in the hotel or restaurant business, software solutions provide efficient tools to handle check-ins, bookings, etc. Here, expertise, creativity and know-how are the keys to continue developing increasingly comfortable solutions for hospitality professionals.

The Technology Hub will incorporate the STUDIO18 Digital Rooftop, encouraging visitors to exchange ideas and have discussions. The Welcome City Lab will be a platform for a selection of start-ups specialised in tourism.

The Service Hub

The Service Hub offers a comprehensive range of solutions and expertise to optimise service in hotels and restaurant chains. To deliver greater comfort, hospitality professionals need to offer customised services and build their staff’s service-oriented mindset. A subtle combination of show and function, the STUDIO18 Room, designed by interior architect Jean-Philippe Nuel, reveals the keys to this difficult balancing act.

With more than 100,000 professionals set to be in attendance, EquipHotel 2081 promises to be one of Europe’s most exciting hospitality events. Running from Sunday 11 to Thursday 15 November 2018, EquipHotel at the exhibition space at Porte de Versailles will be showing the future of the hospitality industry.
