New owners create four jobs at Coleorton pub

The George Inn in Coleorton, Leicestershire has been acquired by husband and wife, Chris and Kerrie Perrin, with the support of a six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC UK.

The funding has been used to purchase the premises, allowing Chris and Kerrie to begin their first business venture together.

The pair identified The George Inn as the perfect business venture due to its popularity amongst local residents. Having both previously worked on luxury and private yachts as Head Chef and Chief Stewardess for over 12 years, Chris and Kerrie have all the necessary skills to refine and elevate the pub’s menu and service.

Following the purchase, four full-time jobs have been created, including front of house staff and kitchen porters. The duo hope to create more jobs in preparation for a busy Christmas and New Year.

Chris Perrin, joint owner, said: “Taking ownership of our first business together is a special moment. Both Kerrie and I are over the moon that HSBC was able to support our plans. We have both worked abroad for a number of years and felt it was the right time to pursue our own ambitions.”

Elliott Watts, HSBC UK’s Business Development Director in the East Midlands, said: “Chris and Kerrie’s experience of working on some of the world’s most exclusive yachts, as well as their desire to succeed, means that The George Inn is in good hands. We’re delighted to have supported the duo as they embark on this new and exciting chapter.”
