  • App-based store-to-door delivery service blends the best of online with outlet shopping for big discounts and no shopping bags to carry
  • Free 24-hour delivery in mainland Britain for first 3,000 guests spending £125, otherwise £10.50

London Designer Outlet (LDO) at Wembley Park is the first UK shopping centre to offer Dropit, the app-based, store-to-door delivery service. All purchases bought at any of LDO’s 50 outlet stores can be gathered together and swiftly delivered in one drop to customers’ homes, hotels or workplaces at a time and date of their choosing, with same-day deliveries available. The service will launch on 01 December and will be free-of-charge for many customers for an initial period.

This gives visitors the opportunity to take their time to enjoy LDO’s restaurants, coffee shops and multi-screen cinema without the need to carry shopping bags. No bags are allowed into the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium so easy shopping pre-event was never possible until now. Visitors can also enjoy the wider Wembley Park where there is a convergence of retail, dining, leisure, entertainment and public events as well as world-class attractions at Wembley Stadium, The SSE Arena, Wembley and, from December, at Boxpark Wembley.

Easy and quick to reach by public transport, more than 70% of LDO’s guests arrive by Tube, train, or bus, so a store-to-door delivery service means visitors can continue having fun, hands-free.

Tourists, for example, can shop and still enjoy a full day of sightseeing comfortable knowing their shopping bags will be sent to their hotels – giving a significant helping hand to bag-laden shoppers over the Christmas period. Some 60 per cent of customers spent over £125 in December 2017.

Overseas tourists are increasingly seeing LDO as an important part of their trips to the UK with international and domestic tourists taking advantage of the keen prices and facilities such as tax-free refunds on site. As a result, some 20% of LDO guests are international visitors meaning that tax-free sales are 17% ahead of UK market trends to date in 2018. Of those from outside the EU the most popular areas in 2018 were China including Hong Kong and Taiwan, plus India and the Middle East. The area expects to attract over 20 million visitors a year by 2020.

Sue Shepherd, Realm’s Centre Manager for LDO, said: “LDO is an urban outlet centre serving the neighbouring residential and working population in Wembley Park, the wider, affluent catchment in London and the Home Counties, and a rapidly growing number of international tourists. We have a proven track record of success, having grown sales every quarter since opening in October 2013. The Dropit service has clear benefits for our diverse guests. Tourists, for example, can shop and still enjoy a full day of sightseeing comfortable knowing their shopping bags will be sent to their hotels. The service will further enhance the consistently superior guest experience we provide.”

LDO offers aspirational and desirable brands at up to 70% off RRP. London’s most accessible outlet centre is easily reached by three Tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes and has ample on-site car parking. Its fashion, athleisure and lifestyle brands include Nike, Converse, Kurt Geiger, Superdry, Guess, Gap, Skechers, Levi’s, M&S, Villeroy & Boch and Hamleys.
