Aspire Executive Lounges, the fast-growing Swiss brand in the airport hospitality business, has joined the British Institute of Hospitality (IoH), the world’s leading membership body for professionals working and studying in the hospitality leisure and tourism industry. Aspire Executive Lounges is the first business from the airport lounge sector to become a member of IoH. The Institute of Hospitality is a great network to exchange insights and experiences, and to learn from others in the hospitality sector, which will help us bring our vision to life.” Robert Richardson, CEO of the Institute of Hospitality: “Our aspiration at the Institute of Hospitality has been to develop and grow our membership, the number of countries we operate in, and the number of hospitality sectors represented within our organization. With that in mind, it is a natural partnership for us to welcome Aspire into our family, and to learn from their teams, who serve travelers with passion and dedication. As two organizations with similar values, we look forward to collaborating in promoting high levels of excellence within our profession.” With over 30 years of experience, Aspire Executive Lounges is Europe’s largest brand in the airport lounges sector. BaxterStorey will be the headline sponsor of FOOD: Bigger than the Plate, a landmark exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum this summer that explores how innovative individuals, communities and organisations are radically re-inventing how we grow, distribute and experience food.

The immersive exhibition will be a highlight in London’s cultural calendar – taking visitors on a sensory journey through the food cycle from compost to table.  FOOD: Bigger than the Plate showcases human ingenuity around the future of food as well as sparking discussion and debate about how our collective choices can lead to a more sustainable, just and delicious food future in unexpected and playful ways.

BaxterStorey’s expertise and team will be integral to the delivery of parts of the exhibition, including a live mushroom installation growing in the gallery and their chefs will be catering for several events around the launch.

The exhibition will bring together over 70 projects by artists and designers working with chefs, farmers, scientists and local communities.  Taking a fresh and experimental perspective, the exhibition will present ideas and alternative food futures from gastronomic experiments to creative interventions in farming.

Alastair Storey, Chairman of BaxterStorey said: “We are proud to be involved in such an important exhibition.  Exploring sustainable and innovative food solutions has never been more relevant. As an organisation that serves millions of meals every single day we are very aware of our impact on the food chain and pride ourselves in our forward-thinking sustainability agenda. We look forward to getting involved and being inspired by the exhibition”.

Catherine Flood, co-curator of FOOD: Bigger than the Plate at the V&A, said: “BaxterStorey’s commitment to embracing innovative food development and creating a more sustainable catering business makes it a perfect partner for this exhibition. We’re delighted to be working together with them to bring elements of the exhibition to life for our audiences”.

BaxterStorey provides hospitality services for a wide range of customers at over 700 locations through restaurants, café bars, deli operations and executive dining rooms, employing more than 8,500 people.
